My hunch is they drop back to #9. I just can't see a 2 loss team being ranked ahead of them since their only loss is to an undefeated BIG10 team who was ranked 13th in the AP. Minny will move up, but my hunch is they stay behind Penn State. Utah? NOBODY wants Utah in the mix!
As far as Clifford, this is his first year as a starter. He threw three costly interceptions today, but he also made some good plays that kept Penn State in the game. Think we really need to give him a HALL PASS today. This loss could be the turning point in his career. Being 8-0, first year starter and filling the shoes of Mcsorely comes with a lot of pressure. If he learned something today, then so be it and move on.
Nobody here REALLY believed Penn State would have beaten Ohio State 3 years ago at Beaver Stadium. I know we play them on the road, but now that the undefeated season is over, I think this will take the pressure off the team and JUST MAYBE they will play better! If they can some how pull off the upset of the DECADE against Ohio State, they will NOT lose to Minny again!
Run the table and 1 loss Penn State team is in! Not going to be easy, but if Ohio State is out Chase Young when head there, that is a game changer!!

I was saying the same thing during the game day thread. This loss isn't as bad as it looks in the big scheme of things. Win the next 3 you'll be East Division Champs and going to Big Ten Championship game. With a win there, Penn State will be assured of a playoff bid - other then true bias there is no mathematical way to leave PSU out. So now, worry only on what you have control over, and let the other BS get played out with the talking heads, something we have no control over. Win and you are IN!

Yes MSU has fallen. They are 5th in the East with Indy above them and the newbies below. They have a loss to UM next week and then they get to become bowl eligible if they beat MD and Rutgers. They could lose to MD and not make a bowl?

Wrestling championships are in March. Look for 9 out of 10 or whatever Cael's run is. All is good. They are in Minnesota so don't go as it will be cold there. There is also signing day and the Blue White hype. And a few more phone calls to get your money. And the joy of being another year older. Such is the joy of following college sports.
We had trouble with Pitt, Iowa, UM and MN, we won 3 of 4. Just didn't expect MN to be competitive.
Cael will have a tough one this year, we are still favored but Iowa and OSU are closer this year. Iowa is probably better than OSU.
I will miss seeing Bo wrestle. He was the most dynamic wrestler I ever watched. You never knew what he would do next to pin a guy. But we all said that about Taylor and Ruth leaving. Now Nolf and Bo are gone. Someone new will step up to make us forget the past. I hope.

We aren't out, if we lose again then you can say that
Penn State has no chance to go to the playoff, 10-2 won’t get them in. But they might get a Rose Bowl berth in a probable 10-3 11-2 season.A great season considering l thought they would lose 4or 5 games this year!
If they win out, they will be in. They would be 12-1 and a Power 5 champ. I can't see the committe leaving them out. I realize this is wishful thinking, beating Ohio State will be a long shot, but if they would pull that off they punch their ticket!
PSU is a good team but has been inconsistent. To beat the big boys you need to bring your A game. Lots of reasons why that happened against Minnesota many of which already highlighted on this forum.
Not sure we can beat Ohio State.
Regardless, PSU is young and we will have some impact recruits joining next year.

You know how I feel about the SEC and the nonsense...This year they will put Clemson and the B1G champ in even if the B1G champ has a loss...2 SEC teams will be in and they will leave out Oklahoma and Oregon..If Clemson loses they will put 3 SEC teams in...
I still think the scam committee ranked us #4 for a reason. The message they wanted to send was as long as you're undefeated we'll put you in. They were banking on us losing (probably to OSU). That way they could shut everybody up complaining about SEC favoritism. They can truthfully say "we had 2 Big 10 teams in the playoff, but PSU couldn't win when it counted!

I'd be happy (ecstatic!) if we beat the Buckeyes and get to face Minny in the B1G championship! Then we could put a major hurt on them like we were supposed to do yesterday! What makes you think that looking at the last 3 years? We won the big 10 and beat Ohio st on the field and got left out. Ohio st won the big 10 finished 12-2 and they got left out to a team that didn’t even make the conference championship game and they finished 12-1 last year winning the big 10 2 straight years and they still got left out. I’m with ya maybe Ohio st gets in with 1 loss but ain’t no way we get in with a loss.

What holds weight is strength of schedule, what holds weight is we lost to a top 15 offense.

If your faith is that shattered then call up the team tell them to pack it in, tell any draft eligible player to shut it down and get ready for the draft... Seriously PSU has a chance and I'm 100% positive they have that attitude.
