Louisa County linebacker Brandon Smith named Gatorade state football player of the year. Brandon Smith is ranked as the 25th best player and the number 2 linebacker in the country according to 247Sports.
Once enrolled, Penn State will have two Virginia Players of the Year on the team. The other being Ricky Slade. Slade won the award in 2017
That's awesome cave! Ever since this kid committed I've been wondering if he's our solution to inside/mike linebacker next year.
Could you imagine the talent in that linebacking corps with this kid at Mike, and Parsons at the Will? he is an early enrollee, and will be in school in January so I think it is possible he could win the position. Unlike Parsons, he won't have to learn a new position. He would basically be playing the same spot he did in high school.
I guess regardless, whoever wins that middle line backing spot next year is going to be damn good.
