Can't blame him, but that will be a big blow to the defense.  Wouldn't surprise me to see more opt out one way or another.

GO STATE!!

Next man up baby! I read somewhere I believe dealing with the PAC 12 that the players have demands before they’ll play. I understand the pandemic now but this will probably be a problem going forward. I’m beginning to wonder if some of these kids want to play for a scholarship? Thanks GOD we have James Franklin because he’ll just plug another one right in we might miss a beat but it won’t be a big beat.

I honestly wish the NFL would let guys jump right in the pros then after a couple of seasons these players would see they ain’t ready for the NFL some folks just have to learn the hard way it’s that simple but I believe after a couple of seasons when all the 5* studs are working in factories or driving a truck they’ll appreciate the scholarship they’ll be gettin. Nothing wrong with working in a factory or driving a truck I’m just saying. It would only take a few years then these kids would get the drift! With all the fake sports news out there people just don’t believe the statistics on making the NFL it’s brutal baby lol

What you're saying is so true Southern.  In fact, I'd be very happy to let all the PAC 12 players and any others with similar demands jump immediately to the NFL.  That would speed up the process of the vast majority being cut because their not as great as they think they are and letting their true education in the school of hard knocks begin, lol.

It’s going to be interesting where all this goes, who will be the next big name player from any school to opt out. You can’t blame them as ( IMHO ) college football moves closer to cancelling the fall season. I just want more tOSU players to opt out like Justin Fields. i wonder if Parsons remains enrolled at Penn State. If he remains I would imagine his scholarship is pulled if he doesn’t play football.

All professional sports are hard to make but NFL football might be the toughest because of so many things you have to be good at plus having the size, strength and speed to play. I’ve got a real good buddy bob that thinks since he can drive a mustang 130 miles an hour he thinks he can compete and win in NASCAR lol and he really does think he can. NASCAR great Dale Earnhardt gets killed racing and this dude thinks he can do it. He’s a great buddy of mine but he’s delusional sometimes and I mean very delusional lol

Easier for big name players to opt out, they are almost certain to be drafted. Difficult decision for a player who needs to have a great year to be draft worthy.

I'm 100% for letting any player that wants to put his name in the draft right out of high school and get a shot.  If it does not work out they can come back to college but with no scholarship.

Give the scholarships to players that want the education along with the college football experience.

I saw the PAC 12 player demands... They are looney.

I use to do 135mph in my Tiburon V6 GT, so I guess I could take him!

The new normal in college football is me me me me me me me....

I project that the interest and excitement of college football will wane. At least on YouTube I can watch games of years past.

This all started when Kelly dissed Cincinnati, bailed out on his kids for the bowl game, and fled to that school in Indiana.

Everybody has demands!  Wonder what demands Franco & Lydell had?

Great question but they completed their commitment.

Speaking about the NFL, it's the one sport where I think kids shouldn't be allowed to jump straight into. Too physical, and I don't believe teams would draft anyone straight out of HS anyway. The most I'd agree with is probably at least 1 year played in college. IMO

i agree I just wish they’d let these kids jump straight into the NFL for about 3 years then 99.9999999% of these hotdogs would see how hard it is to make the NFL and then they might appreciate a scholarship to get an education and maybe fall into the 1% that actually makes the NFL after a few years of college. The NFL is the most brutal sport out there I don’t think most realizes how brutal the NFL is. IMO it’s the hardest pro sport to make because there’s so many hurdles you have to jump to be good enough to make a roster. All pro sports are hard to make but the NFL is the toughest

I disagree with you Roam.  I like Southern's way of thinking.  Let them jump right in if they think they're so hot.  As I see it, a lot of their ego problems come from their success in HS which often comes because they are the "big dogs" playing against inferior competition.  Let them see what it's like with the shoe on the other foot.

I doubt any team would even draft them, with so many good players from high school completely tanking I don't see it. You never know though, maybe teams would take some fliers in the later rounds.

I believe you're right, Roam.  When money is on the line, draft choices are too precious to waste!  However, IMO, immediate eligibility out of HS would still serve a useful purpose by teaching them a valuable lesson, i.e. you still have to prove you're as good as you think you are!
