He claims :

1. It is hard to recruit players that believe in the team concept because they watch the pro players and try to copy them.

2. In today's game coaches cannot tell players to do something, they can only suggest. If players want to follow a suggestion they will, if they  don't want to - they won't.

Not sure if some of this was tongue-in -cheek but his interviews are great.
