He would definitely have a better chance at winning a NC at LSU. all LSU needs is a good coach and Brian Kelly is a good one. I know a lot of people don’t like him but he’s one of the best college coaches out there.
I disagree. Getting to the playoffs is far easier at Notre Dame than at LSU. He is pulling in great classes at ND. He would have to face much, much harder competition in the SEC than he currently does and would also have to win an extra game, the conference championship, in order to make the dance.
IMO ND plays a national schedule year in and year out that PSU would struggle with. Yeah they joined the ACC but they still man up with other teams that again, I don't know if PSU would currently beat. IMO there really isn't a game on ND schedule that isn't worth a watch or intrigue; say that for the SEC teams..
Regarding facing tougher competition in the SEC, AL is a constant, and the rest is year in and year out fodder; basically you have Al, GA and who else with any consistency that is legit? Okay LSU gets on a run every now and then. But look at the OOC schedules... TX is going to stay a second tier program and OK, well that will be interesting.
On equal years do favor AL, GA, LSU over say, OSU, WI, MICH, PSU?
@cavensprawl ..I have no inside info, but for all those reasons, plus he's now 60, has spent 11 seasons at ND..I dont see him leaving With the insane money being tossed around, I fully expected his agent, Trace Armstrong, who I think also represents Riley., to negotiate an extension and pay raise, and it be my guess thats what this is all about..
Kelly didnt seem very comfortable in South Bend his first 3-4 yrs or so, interviewing with the Phila Eagles after the 2012 season....But he seems more comfortable than ever now, and I believe his active in community..He talked about retiring there, that it be his last job..
That being said, watch him sign at LSU tomorrow, ala Riley at USC..

Meh, they played 1 ranked team this year and lost. Toledo is a watchable game to you? How are they any different from Ball State? The best team they beat on their schedule is Wisconsin, a team we also beat.

@roaminglion ND is well known for playing a tough national schedule, pre-season mags always point that out..THis yr some teams were down, surely not NDs fault....but they beat 2 Pac-12 teams, 2 big 10 teams, 5 ACC teams...points out these conferences give you many wins too..Big 10 was loaded with mediocre or bad teams..

The reason I say he’ll do good and win a NC at LSU is because like the great Nick Saban, he’s a great coach and he’ll be able to get the players at LSU to compete with the big dawgs. LSU is just like USC, give them the right coach and they’ll be years where everybody else will be chasing them. USC, LSU, Alabama, Texas and Ohio St are recruiting goldmines. Florida is good to but a step behind these teams. CT ND just went back to being a 7-5 team buddy

He's been spreading that same nastiness for years over there. I connected the dots when someone referred to him as "Homer" on here and other posters refer to him as Remoh; which is Homer spelled backwards.
