Man what a bunch of entitled pricks. They're mad that the ACC campaigned for Miami, and said "it has done irreparable damage to the relationship".
I hope the ACC tells them to eff off, your football team isn't in the conference. Notre Dame is basically saying they wanted the conference to be disloyal to one of it's own members because "We're ND"
Fudge ND! They’d never get in the playoffs if I was in charge unless they were in a conference. Greed caught up with ‘em plus Miami beat ‘em. It’s justified leaving them out.
@southern-psu-fan Notre Dame told the ACC that they didn't want their football team in the ACC, because they wanted to be treated differently for that sport.
Then ND gets mad at the ACC for doing exactly what ND told them to do... treat them like the aren't a part of the ACC in football.
I read that they opted out to get back at ESPiN for pushing to get 5 of “their” SEC teams into the playoff. The reasoning was that them not being in the bowl would hurt the ratings and cost ESPiN money.
I could never understand how ACC could let them in all sports but 1.
Well I can tell you that I ain't a fan of Notre Dame...As a matter of fact I can only think of a few teams I despise more than them HOWEVER they are absolutely correct about ESPN...I have been saying this for years...My whole problem with this is that you got 5 teams from one conference in this 12 team tournament...Why in the hell are we playing a conference schedule then? We played some of these games already...Why are we replaying what already went on earlier in the fall? They actually played a football game already and Oklahoma won on November 15th for Christ sakes...3 weeks ago...So we really need to replay a game that already happened...This is why I won't watch this garbage...We played these games already...Teams won and teams lost...I get that Bama is the most sacred of all the cows but they played Oklahoma already and lost...Why are replaying this game again? There should NEVER be more than 4 teams from any conference in a 12 team tournament EVER...Again I think they did the right thing with putting in Miami over Notre Dame because they played a game and Miami won...A couple/3 seasons ago they left out an UNDEFEATED conference champion from the CFP because their QB got hurt and they didn't pass the "eye test" whatever the hell that is...My eye test is a simple one...Who won the F'ing game...If your team ain't lost all season and is undefeated I could give a rats ass how it looks...Nobody has beat you yet so lets line up and see how it goes...This is a rigged system plain and simple...It is designed to get as many of ESPN's beloved SEC conference in as possible to try to perpetuate the myth that they are the best conference "which they haven't been for 3 years now...It is obvious the games really don't matter...This thing is a farce...They might as well make this thing the SEC invitational tournament and mandate the winner of this SEC invitational tournament is the National Champion...That way that conference may actually win one cause they ain't winning one this year no matter how hard they try to rig this thing...Take a minute and look at these venues...You tell me they ain't putting their fingers on the scale...Oregon is traveling cross country to play Texas Tech in Miami...Indiana has to travel to L.A. to play whoever wins the rematch between Oklahoma/Bama which is a rematch of a game played 3 weeks ago...Georgia travels all the way to New Orleans to play Ole Miss which is also a rematch of a game played on October 18th...Ohio State will be the away team when the play Texas A&M in Dallas...It's a joke...They pull the same happy horseshit in the CFP that they do with the rankings...This is simple math gentlemen...You stack the deck with enough of your teams you significantly increase the odds that one of them will make it through...When you are ESPN and have the majority control of what goes on in the college football scene and has a prominent seat at the table when it comes to the CFP and what goes on why would you be surprised that the teams from their channel are favored over the other teams? You think it's a coincidence that every f'ing year they stack the rankings with SEC teams to inflate their SOS? You shocked that they stack the CFP with SEC teams? It's all propaganda to perpetuate the myth that the SEC is the best conference...The less they expose them to outside competition the safer they are from being exposed as frauds...This really isn't competition at all...It is entertainment...On par with the WWE...The whole thing is offensive to me as a former athlete who loved to compete because there is nothing about this that is about competition and earning your way in...This is about who you are and what conference you are in to tilt the scales to make sure their business interests are favored...The only way this gets fixed is to eliminate committees and create play in rules that trigger automatic bids to fill the field...Last year was the closest I have seen that system come to pass and of course ESPN and the SEC couldn't stand it cause they got their heads kicked in and it shattered their narrative...They can't have that go on too much longer or they will be fully exposed as the frauds they are...
Now on to Notre Dame...The answer to their dilemma is to join a conference or face this happening more often...My guess is that they will join the B1G sooner rather than later...
@cohappy ACC is a whore, take anything they can get, if there's cash involved.
Well let me tell you how I really feel about notre dame. Wait, my parents taught me not to use that kind of language. But they've passed so what the Hell. So FUCK notre dame!!
Who cares. Real champions get crowned on the field
I don't understand what the big deal is. ND was already in playoffs. I don't care if you're in a conference, independent. Games are played and won on the field. Notre Dame has large revenue from its NBC deals. Who gives a rats ass. They beat Penn state straight up in January
Notre Dame will play anyone, anytime, anyplace. Win or lose. No conference needed
If Neuter Lame was on life support I'd pull the plug to charge my cell phone!!!!
Notre Dame will play anyone, anytime, anyplace. Win or lose. No conference needed
Talk about irony... says ND will play anyone, anywhere right after they declined to play BYU. LMFAO
