Now the talking heads are touting that Notre Lame may be allowed to play for the ACC championship this year even though they aren't official conference members!  When the H-E-Double Hockey Sticks are people going to stop kissing their Irish Arse??  I can't believe all the enablers that are perfectly comfortable with letting them have the best of all worlds.

Yep, let 'em join the conference if they want to play for a championship.

I know what you're saying.  Unfortunately, until somebody takes offense at their silly leprechaun mascot and fighting Irish nickname,  all they do is give the real Irish a bad name, lol.

I wish all the Power 5 conferences would get together and just tell ND to pick one or go pound sand.

There's  a better chance of the pandemic ending tomorrow, than that happening...LOL  Your former Commish, Jim Delany gave it his best shot, getting up the ND hierarchy before getting defeated in the end.

It was oft said, Delany would have walked to South Bend...to land ND   Didn't happen then, not happening now..

I'm all for letting ND play in the conference ship.  They'll get their asses kicked and open up a spot for another team to go to the dance.  Look at their schedule this year; they play Clemson at home and Schittsburgh on the road........those are their two toughest games.

I wouldnt be surprised if they also requested to be spotted a 21 point lead and the opposing team has to wear scuba flippers instead of cleats.

How the hell did Clemson get on their schedule? They’ve been avoiding them like the plague.

@lionbacker99  Some would call it "bad luck o' the Irish"  I call it karma, and my Father use to say "The sun dont shine on the same dog's ass two days in a row".

As I've said in the past, "Even at my advanced age; my penis still gets harder than ND's schedule".

@tsuga Not sure if you're braggin' or complainin'. But hey, as long as it works, does it matter?

Speaking of the Irish; When they make a pot of bean soup, why do they always count out and add 239 beans?

'Cause if they added another bean, it would be "too farty"

You guys really crack me  up   PSU literally plays more cupcakes than any other team, and then when the BIG BOYS come along like OSU, UM, go belly up..PFFFTTTT UP IN SMOKE THE SEASON GOES  PSU schedule, the likes of Kent ST, COASTAL CAROLINA, BUFFALO, VILLANOVA IS COMING UP, gets torched on college  message boards more than any other school...there are posters HERE who bemoan the lack of quality opponents
ND on the other hand, is generally lauded for playing  a traditional, intersectional, one of the toughest schedules in the country
Keep it up fellas, its quite humorous, especially coming from PSU fans..

I'm not talking scheduling or cup cakes.  What frosts my polish behind is the fact that ND expects and gets preferential treatment.  They don't want to join a conference because they "cherish" their independence (translated: don't want to share TV & bowl revenue).  At the same time, they want to be included in the National Championship playoffs and now, because of COVID, be eligible to play for the ACC championship!  Enough is enough!!  Like Roam said , everyone should just tell them to join a conference or go pound sand.

@rip: in the last 14 games we hold a 9-5 edge over ND.  Last year our SOS was ranked #32 and their's was ranked #37. We both finished 11-2 and we were ranked higher in the final rankings.  I pretty much call it a wash.  BUT....unlike Stormy Daniels; Notre Dame ALWAYS chokes on the big one.

@tsuga  CT is a ND fan, facts have no place in his beliefs of football superiority.

@rip..You guys overrate that conference nonsense  First of all, the college football playoff is the best 4 teams  as rated by the CFP Committee ...It has nothing to do with being a conference champ, thats exactly why in any  given  yr, you can have a conference champ  left out, or two teams from same conference , or two conference champs left out..And these conference title games could be done away with except for MONEY..Of course, an independent  like ND, or BYU or Army for that matter, should be under consideration..Until the criteria is changed to indicate you must be a conf champ, it should remain that way, and there is no need for ND to join a conference ..

Did anyone not know that LSU, Oho St, Clemson, OKlahoma would be the final 4 last yr, of course not.. That was predictable much before the title games..

If a conference title meant anything, the Committee could easily expand to 8, include the 5 power 5 champs, and remove any argument  BUT they dont, and in fact that rumor seems to have lost steam..IT APPEARS WE WILL HAVE 4, TILL THE CONTRACT EXPIRES, AND THEN WHO KNOWS  Many coaches have expressed that 4 is enough, theyre content with the 4 best teams..It probably will stay that way for awhile..

if we go to 8 games the committee can’t dictate who they want to get in. I’m not saying they fix games but they do their best to get the 4 teams they want in and then it’s up for grabs with the 4 teams. 4 teams is BS needs to be at least 8

First of all, you and I disagree on this ,  I think the Committee , for the most part, gets it right  I cant think of a yr they didnt, and I know last yr, the 4 were obvious picks, even before the title games...Thats all you need, there was  a time, I preferred 8, but I can now see staying with 4...and I could be wrong, but it seems the coaches are fine with 4, including Nick Saban..

ND, chokelahoma, Alabama and Clemson gets the benefit of the doubt so if you’re a fan or coach of these teams you would be for 4 teams. With 8 teams the committee can still show favoritism but they can’t leave out 4 other teams that could have a chance to win the NC. I want 8 teams that way would could get all the power 5 conference championship  teams in the playoffs.
