Hope y’all understand that I’m not on Facebook, Twitter or any other social networks this is the only thing I do because I like you guys and love going back and forth with y’all so it’s easy for me to get off track even when I know better. When I hear guys that I have a lot of respect for say this ain’t for politics I need to listen and from here on I will not talk politics because it’s just being disrespectful and that just ain’t me. Now if somebody has a bone to pick and it ain’t football just say Southern take your butt over to the water cooler you ain’t going to get away with what you said back whenever and I ain’t forgot I’ll meet you over there and hopefully we can work it out. Hope you guys except my apology and we can get on to some Penn State football 🏈. I’ve noticed all our hero military people on here don’t have much to say with politics so the rest of us ought to get the message we probably don’t have a chue anyway lol. There’s been 4 or 5 guys that said not to talk politics and you know who you are and you were right. I still believe we treated each other with respect but this just ain’t the place. Sorry again guys
As always, you speak like a true gentleman!
Southern, relax. Nothing to be sorry for. You're a good person. You have a right to speak out. No harm done. Take it with a grain of salt. Other than that I have something to share. I don't use social media, Facebook, Twitter. I got rid of Facebook years ago. It's toxic and it changes you as a person, influences your mind. Have a great day.

Well said. I've changed my ways and so can anyone else.
Southern you are a good guy as is everybody who posts here...Even you Pipe...LOL...I respect everybodies thoughts and opinions...I believe as long as you have an open mind you are able to learn something...The moment you close your mind you are finished learning...Politics has become toxic as each side has become militarized in their way of thinking...There is no give and take...no honest debate and certainly no civility left in our politics which is contrary to everything the founders of this nation believed in...Until this changes we are doomed as a country...We are all Americans and want nothing but the best for our country...That starts with being civil to your fellow citizens and moving on to honest debate of what direction we should go as a nation...I don't agree with 95% of what you think Southern but you have every right to express your opinions and beliefs...There is no harm in honest and civil debate as I feel that makes us all the better and the wiser...I would hate to see that disappear from this forum...Just my 2 cents...

SPF: I cant speak for all the vets on here but as for me, I dont talk politics because I know where it will eventually lead. Honestly, I diont know if its a Vet thing or not but those of us that did had it drilled into us that we had to find a common ground to perform as a unit and any contention would lead to dissension among the group thus splitting to thecore the very reason we were brought together. We were trained to accept those of different faiths, races, beliefs. To put it all beside and never speak of it lest we fracture the very thing we were brought together to preserve.
In saying all that, Brother, you and ALL the guys on here can sit by my fire anytime. CT might have to sit back aways but hey, I never said i wss perfect.
@tsuga You can speak for me anytime! Couldn't have said it better! Yes it is a Vet thing!! At least for this one!! There ain't no democrats or republicans at battle stations or in a fox hole!

Southern, you are fine! Not sure what I missed, but when football starts I need you here. SO WEAR A MASK! I am really convinced this is the best option to slow the virus and stay safe. Good luck voting in November....I writing in Tsuga's name. I think he might be loaded with $$$ and will give us all here a stimulus check....or least some venison!!
GO STATE!!
SPF, sorry for the delay. I was a little busy yesterday changing out the front axle on my tractor. Seems as everyone already beat me to the punch. Speaking for myself and maybe/probably a few others, there's no harm, no foul, no need to apologize. Although it may have been perceived that my comment was directed and you and FT, it was more toward the group and I'm including myself in "guilty as charged" for some of my behavior. More than one participant has mentioned how divided our country has become and as I was reading what you and FT said, the light bulb came on in my head! (yep it was pretty scary) Possibly it was the frustration of being cooped up from the virus, but it just seemed that somewhere along the line we went from good natured ball busting, to being border line nasty on occasion and always seemed ready to pounce on any argument with zeal.
I realized our posting was driving a wedge between forum participants, resulting as some have mentioned, in them starting to exclude themselves from the group. I didn't want to see that happen, so I opened my big mouth. I was hoping to go back to what I thought the original intent when Cave set the site up, comradery and support of all PSU sports. With the exception of the Forum Antagonist, who can't seem make up his mind of he's a PSU fan or not, I hope that's what we'd all hope for.
Thats my concern I don’t want people not coming here because of talking politics when Caven has said he doesn’t want politics on here because it causes division. I think we’ve treated each other with respect but this is a Penn State football forum. I can talk anything especially politics because I pull for the winner and I always have because I’m all USA regardless who’s running the country but this just ain’t the place for it and it really hit me when I heard some very well respected people say they come here for football not politics. If somebody has a bone take it to the water cooler lol.
FD, we’re both diehard penn st fans we better have more than 5% in common.....you ain’t no closet ND fan are you lol
This might be the best string ever. Considering our current environment it’s nearly impossible for politics NOT to come up no matter what company you are keeping. What I’m pleased to see on this string is the respectful tolerance for each of us as posters...but this is just my opinion.

I second this.
@mtnittanylion: If you pecker-heads elect me as President I can guarantee all you sum-bitches will be on the cabinet.
Tsuga for President!!!!!!
No hard feelings here with anybody here. I enjoyed the banter back and forth.
We were kinda getting close to kickoff, then came a little bump in the road causing a slight delay. Other than Southern, most of us here are rusty and we are just starting to crawl out from under our rocks. Need some practice over the next two months ( I am allowing for us to ease back in right now) so we are ready to call plays that should have been called, make stupid predictions and most importantly, be ready to fire the OC and DC when we lose close games.....not much practice needed for this one. We can practice this w/o pads!
