@tsuga After the Iowa game 2 weeks ago i rewatched the game again and told everybody I think we’re in trouble on defense and I took it on the chin for saying that but when I saw the second half of the Iowa game again I knew we were in trouble on defense. Iowa is not a good football team their QB is garbage and their offense ranked 122nd. Everybody said the defense was tired and yes they may have been tired but the reason I seen they were tired is they couldn’t get off the field man. I thought, we’ll these dudes on here know football so maybe they are right until I watched the Iowa/Purdue game then I knew for a fact we were in trouble because Purdue eat Iowa’s lunch. Injuries have hurt the defense but we’re talking giving up a 10 point lead against an Iowa team in the 2nd half that has 122nd offense with a QB that stinks and Illinois here we should beat these teams with our 2nd team. I still believe if Clifford was healthy we win these last 2 games we are good enough to out score ‘em. We gotta finds some guys that get to the football like #17. Got to keep trying to win and never give up. They didn’t give up yesterday they fought to the end just came up short because imo the coaches were scared they would hurt somebody’s feelings if they brought Roberson in to give him a chance. Roberson would’ve won that game had they give him a chance that kid can run and that’s what we needed yesterday from our QB Clifford was not healthy enough. Dumb asses let #44 throw the ball on a run throw trick play but won’t give Roberson a chance and that’s what this kid is good at? This loss is on James Franklin! Regroup baby and let’s find a way to get some more wins it ain’t the end of the world. You gotta start somewhere as my ole coach weyman Sellers use to say, take this loss out on Ohio St baby find a way to win baby!!!
as for Roberson yesterday, ole southern wants to win I don’t give a chit who gets credit, just win the game. Clifford should’ve been yanked.
PS I stayed up and watched the Braves last night the first baseball game that I’ve watched all year from start to the end. I watch baseball but not the whole games they are to long so I might sound a little grouchy this morning because staying up late and my heart losing to Illinois don’t go good together 😂 Let’s go Braves baby

Defense did it's job if the goal is not to give up points. The ultimate goal is not to give up rushing yards. Had they gotten one more turnover but jeeze isn't 3 enough. They are missing their best lineman and another starter.
Look at it this way, had the referee not pulled that forward momentum stopped BS then the defense effectively scores 10 points ... yes I'm giving them a FG also. That would mean our defense scored more than our offense and tied IL.
Having a hard time being upset with the D although I recognize they could have won the game on any of 5 plays they missed. No the defense and kicker is not to blame.
