Simple fix to a lot of the issues I see going on right now... Make it so if a player decides to go to college, they can have no existing NIL deals. Only players who have enrolled at school can then sign deals, if they sign a deal before attending, they have to terminate the deal (and cant resign it after getting there). If they want to transfer, no NIL deals can be negotiated until they are at the school they transferred to.

This isnt denying NIL, and schools should absolutly have the right to deny attendence in this fashion. IMO this would get rid of the free agent aspect of NIL. You want to transfer, take your chances. It's ridiculous that pro plqyers have less free agency than these college players.

I suppose a school could self impose something to the effect mentioned above; of course it could/would probably put the school at a huge disadvantage from a recruiting standpoint but on the other hand, may end up truly recruiting and retaining scholar athletes.

How about the monetary value of any NIL deal is subtracted from the monetary value of the kid's scholarship and the lid is then billed for the amount of tuition owed?

I’ve noticed that high schools in my area are now selling naming rights to their football fields so NIL at that level can’t be far behind.

Kinda sorta.  A team could potentially skate the scholarship issue and essentially pull an end run with donor supported endowments to finance a percentage of the ‘big time’ 4-5 star players brought in; and schollie the typical 3 star player. How many total players can a team actually carry, schollie plus walk ons?

NIL is a runaway train. Going to be difficult getting it to slow down.

No bringing back the NIL train.

College football is now up for grabs for the highest paying alumni. It will turn into alumni owned franchises and be the talk of the Country Club; East, West, North and South.

I can't imagine what private skyboxes are gonna run $$$. That money is gonna fund the 4-5 star recruit endowment fund.

@psugrad81 Is it 81 schollie players plus walk-ons or a total of 81 players regardless per team?

Ok, 85 on ships, but what is the total roster limit.  I would think it has to be more than the 85 on ships.
