should be on board no later than Dec 1. This would give him 3 to 4 weeks to interact with the offense and explain his approach to play design schematics and play calling. The portal opens Dec 4 so players that are considering the portal can determine for themselves. Next year Allar, Allen and Singleton may not put up with a playbook and play calling similar to this year, 2024 is a critical year for their draft status.
JF record at Penn State:
- 3-17 against top 10 ranked teams
- 4-16 record against Ohio State and Michigan
- 3-7 against Michigan
- 1-9 against Ohio State
- 12-25 against teams ranked in the top 25
Lets hope the new OC can improve on the above.
This will be the 6th OC in Franklin era.
I know everyone's focus is on the top 10, but the record vs. 11-25 is concerning. 9-8 vs. those teams shows we are not as good as we think we are. Flip a coin and we beat a lower ranked team. That's not good.JF record at Penn State:

Great teams win those games at least 8 out of 10 times.
For me it’s more so about how they are losing lately. This was the year and a gigantic egg was laid. To beat top teams you have to run the ball. Clearly running the ball behind zone blocking with the rb getting the ball in the middle of the field 5 yards back standing still is not going to work. Heck it doesn’t even on the mediocre teams a lot.
That record puts the record into perspective. IMO, JF could be a helluva HC, by being a helluva CEO who hires the right people and gets out of the way. A highly successful CEO doesn't get tied up in the weeds, he weeds out the underlings who can't get it done if they fail to listen, provided that he has the experience to lead.
Singleton is gone. Probably SEC.
JFs last presser (today), his body language isn't one of a confident man.
