Alabama's Kalen DeBoer is among the latest potential candidates to also pass on Penn State's overtures. The Athletic's Bruce Feldman and Ralph Russo reported that DeBoer is not interested in bolting Alabama for Penn State.

PK lost 25of26 recruits by continuing this fiasco for so long. Now it’s a panic hire. White Outs will turn into Blackouts quickly. Seems as if PK just wanted to get rid of Franklin as did a knee jerk move with no plan.

I’m seeing over on the other message board BSD, the new rumor is the fired NY Giants coach Daboll-I think that’s his name. If we are going with NFL I’d rather have the guy FD mentioned a while back Jon Gruden. I wonder if they have reached out to Cignetti’s OC or UGA’s OC. Oh never mind OC’s are not good enough for ole PK. This has become depressing I was so hoping this was going to be our year and it fell apart quickly. PSU is bad, Steelers no good, NY Yankees no good. I’m going to have to find a sport to follow that doesn’t stress me out so much.

I am with you on this Roam...I just find it unfathomable that these guys fired Franklin and had nobody lined up to replace him...We are all going to find out soon enough...All I can say is this guy better be a high profile grand slam hire...They bring in some 2nd rate guy and Kraft might as well box up his office because he is as good as gone...I better be right on what I think went down or Kraft is gone like Franklin is...

That was the Saban recommendation...Saban for AD. Does Daboll have the same agent as Saban, JF et al?
That’s what I’m worried about FD. I’m afraid it’s going to be a 2nd or even 3rd rate guy. And how long can we actually wait? Until after the 2nd signing day? After the portal?? What happens if this guy were waiting on changes their mind? Everyone says Terry but if it’s Terry they should have just done that after the NW game and maybe we would have more players on board going into an uncertain future . So if we wait and miss can Terry get a staff together and get a record # of players out of the portal that late. I dunno.
Well it is either one of 2 things SC...They got a coach all lined up and are waiting for the appropriate time to make the announcement or this is indeed the shitshow many of you guys fear...My personal opinion is the money guys have a guy lined up and are just waiting to announce...I say this because I find it impossible to believe these guys would have fired Franklin without having a replacement in mind and all but locked up...HOWEVER if this isn't the case and they don't have a guy lined up this is really an indictment on all of them...Kraft needs to be fired IMMEDIATELY and we all have to accept the fact that this program is going to take a step backward for a long time...My personal opinion is this screwup will be worse than the sanctions back in 2011-2012...I actually refuse to believe they don't have a guy all lined up...We are all going to find out soon enough...
Everyone knows it can't be Terry long term, what makes him loved by the people in place is relationship. You don't recruit with existing relationship. He may even be a good recruiter at the level he has been working at but he isn't an 'A-Player'. An old boss would always ask me before I hired someone 'is he an 'A' Player?'. He did this to put the responsibility on me and remove any from himself. At some point I said 'A players don't come here, we get B and C players and try to make an A Team'. Problem is that in NCAA Football you need B+ or better players to make an A Team. Maybe you just need a 'A' QB, RB and Receiver 🙂

I hope you’re right, I would have to think as well that they had someone in mind or someone already signed up. I guess it’s all the silence that has a lot of us, well me especially worked up about the new hire. I guess I’m not being patient enough or I’m listening to too many of the talking heads. But I do agree if it does turn out on the bad side Kraft should be fired.
I have a question. Who hires the AD, is it the BOT or someone else?
