Both are investigating UM for stealing signs. It seems what it means is there were allegations that Michigan was sending people to games in order to scout opponents and their signs. Which is against the rules

Spot on. This is actually a bigger deal than people even realize. This means that while already under investigation for recruiting violations they were doing this bullspit. If this is true then they should be banned from post season play and frankly a multi year suspension. This is messing with the integrity of the game.
the more I read about this the more I am believing it. The BIG is not going to notify teams and offer them a choice to not play if there isn’t some weight. Vegas was notified so they could tell the sportsbooks. That doesn’t happen if there is not some weight. Several coaches have come forward saying they suspected Michigan knew what plays were coming. Heck against our game last year it was like a game of Tecmo Bowl when the computer guessed your play. Blown up before it even started.

Big surprise tthe only two times they have lost in the past 20+ games were when they played against teams they didnt know about until it was too late to scout them.

Lol y’all know I can’t stand Michigan. We got replay in college football because they were cheating so bad with the refs. Stealing signs is minor chit compared to refs calling WR’s out of bounds when it was clear the WR had both feet in bounds. We get 12 penalties and they get 2, get time put back on the clock and the pass interference at iowa and y’all are now worried about stealing signs lol…..oh, we know you won the big 10 and we know you beat Ohio St on the field but we still think they are better than you…yes we did say winning the conference championship and head to head was the 2 most important things but we don’t feel that way this time plus Ohio St will be better rested because they had an extra week off to rest. We just feel Ohio St has a better chance against Clemson…31-0 man y’all killing me lol…..there’s no telling what Jim Delany let these teams get away with. It's under investigation at this time. So, we don't have all the details yet. This is great fuel for the fans that hate them. Either way I still respect Michigan and Harbaugh for their accomplishments. I like Jim Harbaugh. I've heard stories where he goes to church every morning for mass or prayer.

The radio show I listened to on my way to work this morning gave the name of the guy on the Michigan staff that got caught and also said the NCAA has confiscated his laptop. They also said that there is an NCAA bylaw that states it is assumed that the head coach knows all that is going on within his program. If there is evidence that shows Michigan is guilty of what they are accused of Hairbawl is finished.
Schiano is most likely the guy that reported this to the NCAA and during his halftime interview when Rutgers was playing Michigan he vaguely referenced strange things and things that aren't right were going on.

Roam, I’m not making excuses if he broke the rules they should punish him but we’ll have to wait and see if anything comes of it. I’m not condoning what he did I was just telling you what Jamie Dukes said. Ohio St and Michigan State gets away with athletes getting sexual assaulted and nothing happens from the big 10 so why should I get upset about stealing signals especially if it’s Michigan. New big 10 boss so let’s see what happens. If Jim Delany was still in charge we know nothing would happen.

1. Who cares what Jamie Dukes said, bringing it up is just making an excuse.
2. Because MSU & OSU were institutional issues and not the pervue of the NCAA. They had nothing to do with on the field performance, and as the Penn State situation proved they (NCAA & Big Ten) had no jurisdiction to do anything. They literally could not punish them, as Penn State won the court battles saying it was wrong.

From the little bit I've read about this it goes way beyond just stealing signs. Allegedly, UM had a paid member on their staff "scout" opposing teams, decipher their signals and signs and transmit that information electronically to other members of the staff.
So yes, stealing signs happens all the time but these guys cranked it WAY up and took it to a whole new level.
Wish me luck today, my oldest and I will be entering the hostile territory of The Shoe to enjoy the game. I'm thinking 31-17 but would settle for 2-0.
