Hello Ladies, remember me?? Here's my take on Saturday's game
1. The sun dont shine on the same dog's arse two days in a row. Saturday was the Gopher's day, kthey came loaded for bear, we didnt.
2. It's a poor hide that cant take one good tanning. Let's hope our boys learn from this.
3. Slade is a situational back. I just cant figure out what situation he should be playing in. I'm leaning towards 2nd half and we're up by 35 with under a minute to play kinda situation. Someone needs to lead him to the transfer portal......I nominate FD.
4. YGM was a non-factor on Saturday. What happened??
5. Didnt we get a kid via transfer portal that was a good WR in a lower division?? Help me out here guys, but i'm thinking he lead his division in RECEPTIONS. Would it not make sense to bring in a kid that may be shorter or slower than the starters but can actually CATCH the ball.
6. I dont mean to pick on Slade but damn, wasnt it funny watching him get pin-balled around on Clifford's 2nd int??
7. At the end of the 2nd half when we could have had the ball on the 1.5 yard line but instead we declined the penalty and kicked the FG.......who would have tried to punch it in?? I'm REALLY TRYING to support JF here but I'm a bit perplexed as to why you would kick a FG there and yet go for a TD on 4th down on the 5 yd line later on in the game rather than a FG. Maybe i missed something on those plays cause at the time I was checking in on my wife frequently and was missing much of the game but I seem to recall that happening. Maybe not though, I'm not as sharp as I once was guys. I'ts hard to admit that my memory is slipping as time goes by.....lol.
8. Still, in spite of ourselves, we damn near carried the day!!!
9. I honestly think we have a puncher's chance against OSU on the 23rd. Minny bloodied our mouths, now lets see if our coaches and team have the mettle to get back up and make a statement.
I just want to take a minute to thank all you guys for your thoughts and well wishes. It means a lot. James will be up for the OSU game and we'll try to get on the game thread and talk to y'all. My fingers dont move like they used to thus my typing skills are a bit rusty.
Happy Veterans day to all of you that served. BT.....we celebrated another B-day yesterday: Semper-Fi brother.
Hey tsuga...I especially liked your point 3, pretty funny but oh so true. I’m glad you and the wife are getting along well. I’m sure you will be reflecting on this Veteran’s Day. We look forward to yours and grandson’s thoughts on OSU but don’t forget about Indiana. Also, let’s pick up the pace on the wrestling part here. We are already 1-0 pitching a shut out against Navy.
I feel bad saying it, he's still a kid and all, but yeah, Slade hasn't played as advertised.
Slade needs to transfer to a team with an offense like Washington State... he's good out in space and as a receiver, but he's not an in between the tackles runner. He also needs to seriously learn how to pass block

It's funny how a player like Slade has committed himself to PSU, his teammates and fans and now we are wishing or asking for players to transfer....

I'm just hoping he gets better and learns how to block.

Committing yourself is all well and good, but just because you've done so doesn't give you a free pass to suck on the field and keep getting chances you don't deserve while others sit.
He's just plain stunk, I don't really care if he transfers or not... but he doesn't deserve to be on that field right now. Maybe if he works hard and gets better he will, or he can transfer and get a fresh start in a offense more suited to his talents.
But OMG every single pass play he's supposed to block for, it's a nightmare.
1) Is that true about Dogs Behinds?
2) I like my hide soft, figure out how to have some heart without getting your behind tanned. Wake up before 1 CT next time!
3) Couldn't resist, GA Tech doesn't have an offense anymore. But I guess he could help in a normal offense in the ACC.
4) Our ends were not impactful, either good offensive line play by MN or B10 Holding?
5) Dropped a few, also had some nice scoops of badly thrown balls. Still catching better than last year. Wasn't it Gesicki that couldn't catch a cold his junior year and had hands of velcro his senior year?
6) He will go to Oregon and be an all star like Juwan 🙂 Wait, I had to edit this, maybe he can be a DB if he can run while looking backwards?
7) Funny we were not chasing points at the end of the half but the whole second half we were chasing points. We went for two, we went for 7 instead of an easy FG, then we had to go for a TD at the end when had we kicked the earlier FG we could have won the game with a reasonable length FG. We wouldn't have been chasing points had we had any confidence in our defense stopping them. They did kind of stop them but Franklin was playing for a shootout.
8) Actually we outplayed them and while we didn't play to our standard or even close I still think we deserved to win and I wouldn't have felt like we stole it or got lucky had we won. Give us the benefit of one call please. The calls were uneven and I don't allow the home field advantage excuse. Then had we taken our extra point and kicked our FG's we still win all other things being equal.
9) Does this go back to every dog having its day or dogs behinds? Every dog does not have its day, what go around does not come around. 17 point underdogs do win sometimes so I guess if that dog has enough days he will eventually win. Recently we have had our day against OSU and still lost.
Sadly with 2 losses and an undefeated OSU we are not guaranteed the Rose bowl. We need all the west teams to have 2 losses and win the beauty contest?
And quit looking forward to OSU! Indiana may be a s good as Pitt!
Why does everyone keep saying that juwan Johnson is going to Oregon and becomes some sort of All Star? He's had one good game, and hasn't done anything else...

I don't disagree with you on his performance. I'm just not advocating, hoping or whatever you want to call it for him to transfer.
The other RBs have moved ahead of him no doubt.
I guess the only Oregon game I watched was either his good game of the one after and the announcers were telling us how good he was. If he is inconsistent that is a drive/personality issue. The player that is gifted and is a winner is rare.
Get the PSU Psychology department to predict heart and we will excel. Give me all the guys in the NFL that didn't get a Power 5 offer.
Back to the dogs behinds. Same view for everybody but the lead dog. Hope the boys don't like the view.

Let's put it this way... He has 206 yards and 3 TDs on the season. In one game he had 106 yards and 3 TDs.
To be fair though, he was injured early in the year
Hope he mends quickly, though Brown isn't all that shabby.
I can't believe Coach Franklin hasn't pressured the team doc into throwing him back in the game, hurt or not. (Haven't heard much on that lately...maybe niccy can give us an update; since he follows that stuff like an old haus frau reading the National Inquirer.)

That comment or variations of the comment just amazes me. I find it VERY hard to believe that there are people out there who actually think that talking about an upcoming opponent on a forum may or may not have an adverse effect on any game. That's just silly to me.
Mr Lake, Full disclosure here: I've been so busy with travel back and forth to Maine and life in general that I havent had time to scratch myself much less follow any wrestling at all. You may have to carry the baton for me for the next few months or so.

It pretty obvious that right now, RS is a weak link in the chain and is killing our offense. If he wants to stay and watch from the sidelines, that's fine but until he improves on his pass blocking, there's no way he should be in the line-up week in and week out.
This is big boy college sports and ya dont get a trophy for participation. If he wants to be a lumberjack, he needs to saw his half of the log.
