I'm not sure exactly how good this Michigan State defense is, it looks like they get a bit demoralized because their offense is so bad.

Hard to continually get up to play D when you know your offense is inept.

Pitt is beating up on Duke

They were, but Duke came back from 26-3 and tied it up

My bad, I thought they got the two-point conversion but apparently they're still behind 26-24

Big come back by Duke, let's see if Pitt can hold on

I just hope the same thing doesn't happen to us. This offense has to get more consistent without the long lulls of going nowhere. We have the talent to be explosive the whole game. As good as the D is this year, they will not keep the better teams from scoring that long like today without help from the O. Not sure if it was the O line, executing the play call, or maybe just bad play calls against Purdue's defensive adjustments.

I agree by far. That's why I was surprised by the long period of no offensive output against Purdue. This offense needs to play to there potential against the better teams and not depend on the defense that long.

It all boils down to the OLine in my opinion...This team is going to go as far as they take them...If this OLine was even average I would consider this team a legit National Title contender...

Situation is that the OLine, running backs, & QB, are all average. Receivers are above average but they can’t carry the offense. Team is young. Next year will be special.

I think that's nonsense. Our quarterback and receivers are not simply average, the skill positions on this team are all above average.

I don't care who you're playing, average offenses don't score 79 points on people. average offenses don't put up 59 points on Big 10 competition, well unless it's Rutgers 😂

We will see. The next 4 games will form Franklin’s legacy.

My question/comment about the Ol is with the RPO, how does the OL know it's a run or pass, after the ball is snapped?  Do they start with pass blocking?  How does the OL know where the run is going?  Just asking bcz looking at the rushing numbers, overall they are not bad.  In total, the four scholarship running backs have carried the ball 116 times for 674 yards, an average of 5.8 yards per carry.  If you remove Slade from that equation, you’re looking at 623 yards on 92 carries. That comes out to 6.8 yards per carry.

That's been my point about the RPO and OL... Some of the sacks and/or pressures could be on the QB, not them. In an RPO scheme it could be set as a run, the OL fires off the ball thinking run, but the QB selects the pass option but holds the ball because the receiver is covered.

In that circumstance, you are putting the OL in a horrible mess. They are run blocking on what essentially became a pass play, and most likely defenders got through quickly and pressured the QB.

It is why I am a bigger fan of mixing in RPO with a standard offense, which I think we are doing more of this year. Still, we seem to rely on it a bit much.
