Just read an article that stated 2 Freshmen players that were starting this year asked the coach to sit them for the rest of the season as to not burn their Redshirt status. Looks as though with the coach being fired, these kids figured to save their eligibility and not play so they can transfer out somewhere else and still have 4 years worth of playing. Guessing the "There is no I in team" concept has left the building.
I have no idea what the Sikowski kid is thinking, what program in their right mind would give that kid a scholarship?
He's awful
They probably want to cash in on their "images" 🤣
The only thing that will save the Scarlet Knights is a well known proven coach. Not sure the following coaches would consider the job but someone like the names below is what is needed at Rutgers:
Urban Meyer
Greg Schiano
Joe Moorhead
Steve Spurrier
Pete Carroll
Mike Nolan
I wouldn't be holding my breath for any of those guys going to coach Rutgers... Sorry Pipe...
Baylor locked down Matt Rhule.

the only one on that list they have any chance of landing is Greg schiano

Yes. What about Bill Bellicheck’s son? He went to Rutgers.

I think that would be a big stretch, considering he's only been a safeties coach up to this point and not even a coordinator yet.

Yes..
I think ultimately the problem Rutgers has is being such an uphill battle. They really don't have big money to pay a coach yet, because they aren't making the big money from the Big 10. That comes in 2021 when they finally become a full equity partner.
Add to that their facilities are woefully behind most other Big Ten schools, and minus a few years they've been a dumpster fire forever. Not only all that, but they've had a stretch of having to fire ADs as well as coaches because of bad behavior.
Finally... there's nowhere for a coach to hide, because you are being covered by the New York City media. No small town reporters that you can boss around, pretty much anything negative will get magnified and talked about on talk shows... that is if you have any success worth talking about to begin with
It's really a tough job to find someone to take
Over a 5 year span, what would be the least a new coach a Rutgers would need to attain to be considered a success?
They can always say someone called them a bad name a la a well known OSU QB and get to transfer at will.
Sad, they wouldn't even be an average MAC team. But it is good for PSU if MD, Rutgers, Syracuse, Pitt, WV, VA and VTech are below average. Right now VA is the best and that is unusual.
But they have a good wrestler 😉

6-6 with a bowl game

I was thinking more on the line of winning more than one game a year.
