Something about him having "phone sex" with a female who he had brought in one time to speak to the team about sexual harassment & sexual abuse. She's supposedly a consultant who works with organizations to combat this problem and she is an expert on this type of problem since she is a rape victim herself. He claims it was consensual "phone sex" but apparently she didn't or maybe changed her mind, or saw $$$$. The report was published by USA Today (I think) and they claim the university knew about it for some time.

You were right, Southern. Now he's fired! I saw where they named one of the assistants as interim HC and bringing Dantonio back "in some capacity". I'd be willing to bet he'll be calling the shots. Never cared for the guy.
@rip How much you want to be they knew right away they were firing him, and let it drag out and publicized it so they could make sure he was fired "for cause" and get out of paying that ridiculous extension they gave him.

I believe some placed reported he was going to be fired, but it hasn't been made official yet. I think MSU is waiting for the Title IX investigation to be concluded, that way they legally don't have to pay his buyout.
I saw an article on MSN saying he was fired as reported by USA today, but now the article was taken down. I guess they jumped the gun and we're back to a suspension.
They reported on TV tonight, he was fired. But probably old news now.
How stupid was this guy? This woman is in to talk about sexual harassment and has a history of creating problems wherever she goes...I believe she created a dust up when she went out to Oregon and some other school as well...What the heck was this guy doing interacting with her privately at all? Whether or not he did those things he should be fired just for the stupidity...I do agree that MSU is thanking their lucky stars they can fire this guy for cause because of the idiotic extension they gave him...He really isn't too bright that is for sure...

Who cares if it was a trap or setup or whatever. A man in his position should know he could be a target and needs to make wiser decisions. His stupidity will most likely cost him 10’s of millions and it’s no one’s fault but his own.

He has a responsibility to his family, God, MSU... Can we hold anyone to a higher standard than the legal standard?
I don't have pity for him at all, but I am concerned with how this country seems to be treating sexual harassment issues. Now it's like you can get really screwed by having a bad date if she regrets it.
Unless it’s a close family member, it’s crazy in today’s times to be alone with anyone.
