James Franklin’s job is safe he ain’t going anywhere imo Yurcich is the one that will be in trouble if we don’t get better on offense. This team still will win 10 games we just won’t beat Ohio St or Michigan this year. No way he gets fired but he’ll get some heat on the OC if things don’t improve. Now Ga Tech might take a look at him though 😁

I have to agree that JF is safe for at least 2 more seasons but this team isn’t winning no damn 10 games. I know you see the same things everyone else does and deep down know that 10 wins is an impossibility.

Why would they have to be built like Meatchicken to defeat us? Indiana and MD both played better vs the Wolverines than we did and we almost always lose to a team that we should easily beat.
JF is only safe to the point of his buyout. But remember, there is a buyout, its just a matter is the school wants to pay it.

You always love to compare how team a did against team b if it supports your argument but if it doesn’t you ignore it. Jindiana and MD both played better against Meatchicken and according to your usual argument that means they’re better than us. One fluke play is the only reason Meatchicken defeated MD but they kicked the shit out of us . Maryland just lost their QB for the season and if that hadn’t happened that game most likely would have been an L for us. What do games in the 60s 70sand 80s have to do with today?

Maybe our new AD can come up with a way to bring Ruhle in as a high powered assistant, maybe "Associate Head Coach". After all, the AD is Franklin's boss. He could sit down and have a heart to heart and tell Jimmy to focus on recruiting and let Matt do the actual coaching. If he doesn't like this arrangement, it might get him to leave on his own for greener pastures. That would be a way around the buy-out issue.
@rip I don’t know if I would do that BK. Let the season finish out and let’s see where we stand. Besides Ohio st we’ll win the rest of our games and get some confidence going with Allar taking over next year. Bottom line is we’re the 3rd best team in the big 10 today, just keep working to get better we don’t ever quit and give up on a season that solves nothing. The goal is always win as many games as you can.
The BIG is very weak this year. Being 3rd best doesn't really speak volumes of confidence for the team or conference, IMO.
I'm not saying do it now. Ideally you wait until the season is over. The only problem is, Ruhle will probably be gone by then. I just think that Jimmy has to go. It's not losing, but how we lost. He just can't win the "big" game against a quality opponent and that's the bottom line.

I will tell you what, if there's one thing Rhule has proven he can do its developed talent. 1st at temple, then at Baylor. The NFL stint doesn't bother me because loads of college coaches have done terribly there.
Though I would say it's risky, obviously there are no guarantees.

Geoff Collins took over Rhule's team and won 7 & 8 games. I wouldn't call that being a winner, More like he took over Rhule's teams and got worse.

Not so fast If you are referring to a coach replacement. Franklin is like a replica of Joe Pa. I'm sure there are whispers of Franklin being replaced. It's most likely Franklin will leave on his own before being fired.
