Here's the thing, why do you think Maryland is a better team than Pitt? Pitt lost 2 games, both to undefeated ranked teams in close games. They also just beat a team who hadn't lost in over 2 years of regular season games. Obviously Pitt's not the terrible team some people thought they were, in fact they are pretty decent.
Maryland, on the other hand, beat up a severely overrated Syracuse team and lost to Temple. Temple. A team that just got beat by Buffalo. While I do think Maryland is a good team with some good players, I don't think they have showed anything to make me believe they are better than Pitt.
They have a very mobile quarterback and historically they give Penn State fits...They are going to be stoked up for this ballgame and the best way to handle a team like that is to run the football and score...They can't be going 3 and out all of the time and taxing the defense like they have been doing...This is a young ballclub that is going to be on the road for a Friday night prime time game against a team that is going to be laying for them...They come out flat with the same offensive line troubles as they have demonstrated they are in trouble...I hope I am wrong but I am concerned and have a bad feeling...We are gonna find out what kind of a team they have on Friday night...I hope to see a lot of improvement up front...
Really haven't seen anything from PS that instills much confidence. Comparing what one team has done against another or against common opponents is completely useless! Franklin is certainly no Paterno when it comes to preparation with a bye week. Just hope that PS has the game well in hand in the 4thQ because if not PS defense will probably fatigued and that spells trouble. Couple that with some of Franklin's decision/play-calling late in the game.

I don't think Franklin is as bad as people make him out to be on bye weeks. I mean, 2016 OSU was off a bye week. Our blowout win against Michigan in 2017 was off a bye week. And in 2014 we took the National Champs to 2OTs off a bye week... with 50 scholarships. LOL
Last year's MSU game was bad, but I think that was more than just bye week prep.
And my comparison was pointing out Maryland has done exactly d*ck this year, yet people are acting like we shouldn't even show up to the game. They state how awful our offense looks, then talk about how great Maryland's is... when Maryland just lost and looked terrible against Temple.
The cognative dissonance is just hard to take... In the same week both Penn State and Maryland struggled on offense. We played a rival Power 5 team, while Maryland played a Group of 5 team. We won our game, they lost theirs... Yet somehow all of this equates into our team being horrible and Maryland being this juggernaut team who will destroy us if we don't play a perfect game. At some point it just gets to be a bit much, okay?

Don't disagree, but really Maryland hasn't either. They've been worse.
Definitely not saying it is a cakewalk or guaranteed win, but some of the assertions that we are awful are a bit weird. Just my opinion
I’d just like to know WTH some of y’all see in Maryland that I don’t? Lol I just don’t see it lol. Y’all say this stuff every year about Maryland and Indiana and we’ve dominated both of these teams. Maryland ain’t seen the DE’S and the pass rush that they will see Friday night. I just don’t see Maryland keeping our DE’s off their QB. Syracuse and all the teams Maryland beats up on don’t have our defense. There’s a reason why the greatest Joe paterno built strong defenses and James Franklin is doing the same thing...it wins games brother.

They really didn’t need to get to the QB because Pitt couldn’t run the ball. When they needed to get to him they did. I don’t think the Pitt score was as close as the scoreboard. This team will win with its defense. When you play great defense and it’s consistent you’ll be hard to beat. If I’m worried about anything it’s our QB getting killed when he runs. Clifford can throw good enough to where we shouldn’t run at all unless we have too. Just my opinion mb lol

We sacked Pickett 3 times, the leader in team sacks for the NCAA averages 5 a game.
We held Pitt to 10 points, yet they way people are talking in here you'd think they scored 40.

I do all the time. In regular conversation it's easy to kid around with friends and talk sports, but on a BB sometimes things just come out that might be ready as combative when you absolutely didn't mean it that wat.

We should win but Maryland is an improved team, maybe. We will discover how good or bad each team is.

I'll be extremely happy if Franklin makes a decision on his #1 back. I'll CHILAX if he at least stops the rotation and stays with the RB who has the hot night.
Here is what I see from PSU and Maryland...PSU struggles blocking people up front...PSU struggles with getting pressure on the QB with their defensive front...Running and dual threat QB's have always given PSU problems and Maryland has a pretty good one...PSU is a young team playing on the road in a primetime game in a very hostile environment and when you mix that in with their slow starts of late it could spell trouble...Listen gang I could be wrong...I hope to God I am...This is what I see...I also believe that Penn State is either gonna win this game by 3 TD's or they are gonna lose by 2 TD's...It's gonna go one way or the other...By about midnight on Friday night we will see how right or wrong I am...
