I see where Saquon is expected to be out 4-6 weeks with a high ankle sprain.  Tough luck.  Hope he bounces back.

Such is the life of a professional football player. Anyway, it’s hard to feel bad for a guy that makes millions playing a game.

Sorry, Sky.  I guess I'm just a stupid old fart for hoping for the best for all the former Nits even if they go on to make big bucks in the pros.  I just hate to see any athlete get injured even though I recognize it's part of the game.

I’m with you Bob and definitely want all PSU guys to do well. There is a difference between hoping for the best and feeling bad. I feel bad for the families that have lost a son or daughter in the war in terrorism. I feel bad for police that are shot while protecting us. I feel bad for parents that have a child with a terminal illness. You get my point.  But I don’t feel bad for athletes dealing with injury. We all need to keep athletics in perspective. I’m a big Barkley fan in large part because of his high character and I am sure he is not feeling sorry for himself.

BTW. I am also an old fart.

No it's not... well I guess it is if you value people based on how much money they make, like you do apparently

I get your point Sky.  I feel bad for all the people that you brought into the discussion on Barkley, but that doesn't mean his injury wasn't "tough luck".  Nowhere did I say I felt sorry for him or indicate he might be feeling sorry for himself.  Heck, I didn't even say I felt bad for him!  If you reread my two posts above, I merely said his injury was tough luck, hoped that he would be able to bounce back and that I hate to see any athlete get injured.

His point is ridiculous. As if feeling bad for Barkley means you don't feel bad for policeman? It's not one or the other... it's soundbite nonsense.

Roam, you have derangement syndrome,

Oh please, someone said they feel bad for Barkely and you had to make it a weird statement about feeling bad for police officers and victims of terrorism.

Basically you felt the need to make yourself feel superior by making some stupid statement as if everyone else on the board is some sort of crazy fan who only sympathize with athletes.

Please enlighten us as to why you felt the need to speak about police and terrorists in a post thread about Barkleys injury then?

This should be good.

Look roam, last week you got me laughing so hard  my cat got frightened and ran out the door. Poor thing is still missing. It was my wife’s fault for leaving the door open. I am trying very hard not to laugh like that because I am now babysitting my grandson and we were just able to get the little fellow to take a nap. Just so you know, he is wearing a PSU shirt.

So please cease with the comedy. If my laughter wakes him up, I will be in hot water. My wife is still angry about the cat!

Take a deep breath and relax. Maybe you will then be able to understand my position about over adulating athletes.

Now, if you hate to see an athlete get hurt, you're over adulating athletes?????  Feeling superior again, Sky?

LMAO... Sky and his stories.

"Maybe you will then be able to understand my position about over adulating athletes."

Actually, you didn't say anything about "over adulating athletes". That has to do with praising them and holding them up as role models, which was not stated in any of your posts. What you did talk about was that we shouldn't feel bad for an athlete who gets injured, that you don't feel bad for Barkley because "...it’s hard to feel bad for a guy that makes millions playing a game."

You point blank stated you don't feel bad for Barkley because he is someone who makes a lot of money. That doesn't have anything to do with over adulating athletes. Simply put, you stated that you find it difficult to feel bad for someone just because of how much money they make.

If you keep this up I will have no choice but to hold you (roam) responsible for my missing cat. 🥵

Let me add on to my previous posts. All I can do is read what you wrote, and you absolutely wrote that you find it hard to feel bad for athletes making a lot of money. There wasn't anything about over adulating athletes in any of your posts, it was all simply about how you reserve your sympathy for policemen and victims of terrorism.

If that is not what you intended to say, or it came out wrong, or if you're trying to say something like feeling bad is implying deep emotional connection so you stay away from that term when it comes to athletes... then fine. However, I don't think anyone on here was using the saying "they feel bad" as if they had a deep emotional connect to Barkley. No one here sun rises and sets on the kid, someone simply implied they empathize with his injury and hope he recovers quickly. I doubt they were devastated by the news.

Let's bury the hatchet on this one, okay? You're better off with a dog anyway. LMAO
