MECHANICSBURG – More records for Southern Columbia football as it sits a top high school football in Pennsylvania again. The Tigers won its record sixth straight state title Friday in a 37-22 win over Westinghouse in the PIAA 2A Championship Game at Cumberland Valley High School. It’s also the 13^thoverall state title for the Tigers. Southern Columbia became the first team in state history to win six consecutive state titles, breaking its own record of five in a row from 2002-2006 and winning five in a row coming into this season.

Friday’s game also was Southern Columbia’s eighth consecutive state final appearance and 21^stoverall.

The Tigers lost three regular season games for the first time in about a decade during the regular season, but finished on an eight-game winning streak, carrying the momentum into the postseason.
