It seemed like Ellis Brooks and Micah Parsons played a bit better than Jan Johnson and Koa Farmer when in, and may be the better options with the higher ceilings.
With a lot of miscommunication in the game, it may be a better option to pick a group and just stick with them. I doubt it is helping the unit overall with so many pieces being shuffled in and out. I've read several reports that all agreed it looked as if the lineup of Parsons/Brooks/Brown at LB was the best when on the field.
It will be interesting to see what the D looks like next week.
Parsons can play. Put him in and turn on the blender..
Coaches are still trying to find the correct formula.
I agree with you Roam...If you go back and review the tape the difference in speed and athleticism is very noticeable...There is a certain suddenness to Parson's play that is undeniable...Man he fills a gap quickly...It's a matter of living with the growing pains of a kid making some mistakes and misreads that may cost you a few times a game until he figures it all out...I agree 100% with you that the Parsons/Brooks/Brown combo has the most upside...I have total faith in this staff to do the right thing regarding personnel moves and bringing these guys along...I keep remembering the job they did 2 years ago and can't help but think they will do it again with this group of young talent...I also believe from a pure talent standpoint this group of kids is the most talented we have seen in a very long time...speed and athleticism isn't a problem with this group as they can physically match up with anybody in the country...it's all about bringing them along now and how quickly the coaching staff can do it...
When he recommitted I said he’s start. He’s a beast. Made a couple mistakes on containment. Over aggressive. Two plays he let the back get outside. He will learn. Great things from him coming.
How about the MLB? It seemed like Brooks was a bit better than Johnson, and has the higher ceiling...
Great to see you Bill and congrats to you on the website!!! His suddenness to the point of attack is astounding...The kid is going to be a great one and I believe sooner rather than later...I couldn't agree with you guys more...Like I have said before this isn't a talent or athleticism thing but rather a learning curve due to youth and inexperience...I have all the faith in the world in this coaching staff to develop and bring this talent along...I fully expect this team to be vastly improved against Pitt and to improve each week....Hopefully they prove me right...
