Lot's of hype in Auburn right now and they are wanting a payback day this weekend! Great, can't blame them and they can "Orange Out" the stadium all they want!! Penn State has played lots of games in rowdy stadiums and even though this will be another tough place to play, Cliff has seen and heard it all, so I don't expect to see him rattled one bit! When you play in the Shoe, Big House, Camp Randall and Beaver Stadium ( just to name a few) every year, I think you are WELL broken in and adapted!
With that said, the crowd will still play a big part in the game, but I doubt we see any intimidation among the Penn State players. If anything, I think they will feed off this. They already have one rowdy game under their belt against Purdue and there wasn't any stopping "the Cliff" on his final winning drive!
I think the game will be close at halftime.....something like 14-10 one way or the other. But I believe the Lions will own the second half and pull away late in the 3rd quarter and/or early 4th and avoid another Purdue finish. By NO means am I taking anything away from Auburn -or their fans - I just don't think they will be able to hang for 4 quarters. I just can't see our defense giving up more than 17 points and I don't see the offense scoring less than 28.....just too many weapons and now a possible running back "machine" that may have found his mojo last weekend!

What I'm hoping to see out of Penn State for this game:
Stack the box. Auburn doesn't have a great passing attack, so dare TJ Finley to beat you with his arm. I'm not scared of him, I'm scared of Auburn's running attack. Run blitz often and play press coverage with the strength of our defense: the secondary.
Don't try to establish the run against Auburn. That's not to say don't run at all, but just please get away from this mantra of needing to shove a running game down our offense's throat. Pass first, and use Singleton as a complement to that passing game. Just stop pretending we are a run first offense. We aren't. We are most effective in an up tempo, pass first mentality.
I believe we win, but close. 35-20 or something like that. However, I do think we have the potential to blow them out...
I think the weak link is the D line and lack of game speed at LB positions; if that gets compensated somehow, then I think we have a good chance of winning.
Offensively, get under center and run singleton out of the I and hit him with short passes and wheel routes; let Allen pound the shit out of the middle; send the WRs deep and hit the TE on clear out slants. 4th quarter, hit'em deep.
Not bad game planning for two glasses of wine, venison medallions, cranberry sauce, roasted taters, and sautéed green beans with maters out of the garden.

i wouldn't test Auburn up the middle, or in the run game much. They are one of the better D lines in college, and were last year too. Their secondary sucks, so I.m not sure running directly into their strength is the way to go
Before the season started I had read that Auburn had the #1 rated offensive and defensive lines in the SEC so trying to establish the run is most likely not the way to go !

Just got some venison sausage out of the freezer! Little tomato sauce, some green peppers and onions on a hoagie roll with provolone and grated cheese on top! That's what's in store for me Saturday.....and a couple of cold IPA's to wash it down and one for the victory formation!

Haha, yep! I don't consider Auburn that good of a team, and there head coach situation is one bad loss away from being a hot seat dumpster fire. I really do think we have a much better team, however if there is one thing that scares me it's Franklin insisting we establish the run. If he can just back off that, we'd be fine.

My mother-in-law makes the best venison meatloaf I have ever had! She does one with hot salsa added to it. I am pretty sure it is 2lbs of ground venison with a jar of hot sauce added to it with a fair amount of ground pepper and lots of onions. Bakes it, lets it cool and then we make sandwiches with it!!!

@mtnittanylion I’m going to cook it on my green egg. I usually cook it it in the oven but I found a green egg recipe so I’m going to try something different. I love a good smoke hickory taste so I’m sure it will be good.
Did a good amount of reading about this game late last night and quite honestly I no longer understand why PSU is favored. I believe the crowd and PSU being terrible on the road under JF plus overall inconsistencies will all contribute to an Auburn win. The offensive line better step up their play or Clifford is going to take a pounding.
