The problem with us here is, we have the ANSWERS for JF and he doesn't read our posts! We know we have the talent, we know when to abandon the running game, we know how to tell time and work the clock and we keep crossing our fingers that this is the year he will read and take our advice.....and he doesn't! When we talk about a REBUILDING YEAR, it is NO LONGER about the players.....its all about the coaches. THEY are ones we need to rebuild....and maybe JUST ONE THEM!
If I am brutally honest with myself, Penn State should have no more than 3 losses during the season. Ohio State, Michigan and Auburn are going to be very difficult to win....but two of those games ARE WINNABLE. Purdue probably will be a close game, but losing their top weapon at WR is going to be a set back....look at Penn States last bowl game without Dotson!!! He plays and that is whole different outcome ( most likely ).
Just like last year, Penn State has the schedule to make a run at it. There is POSITIVELY no reason they can't win the first 7 games, be firing on all 8 cylinders and give Ohio State a run for their money. If they lose any of the first 7 games, the rest of the season is going to be very difficult for them and I doubt they even sniff a major bowl. They let Purdue take one from them.......................yeah, that will just about ink a 5 or 6 loss season.
I truly believe there is ONLY one team on this schedule that is just down right better than Penn State and that is Ohio State. The games have all been close and this one is in Happy Valley this year. A 7-0 Penn State team with what would then be a sold out crowd in Beaver Stadium gives them a honest chance at the upset! And who knows, maybe by that point it wouldn't even be an upset! ND, Wisconsin, Iowa and Sparty BEFORE they come to Happy Valley could take a big toll on them!!! But then again, if they win them all......I don't like that scenario!!! LOL
