IMO it would be a complete mistake for this kid to go pro, he's not ready. Sure, he has done well in college but that doesn't necessarily mean he's ready for the NFL. At 5'9 175, he's VERY undersized... even at the same height Wes Welker and Julian Edelman were both around 200 lbs (maybe Wes was 190), and they needed that extra weight to take the beating they received in the slot.

Sure, he's had very good stats but nothing spectacular that would make him a top pick. If anything, he'd be a 5th rounder or less, which means he'd get no guaranteed money. For someone as small as him, I'd come back and make sure my body was ready for the NFL.

It depends on those who are advising him where they think he would be drafted if he turned pro this year. I agree with Roam’s assessment but at an increasing frequency more players are turning pro before they should. 

Hopefully Hamler reads this forum and thinks long and hard about Roam’s advice.
