I really don't know a whole lot about him other than he covers the SEC. I just think it's a joke how the media and ESPN have created this aura of invincibility around the SEC.  It's gotten so bad that they've convinced themselves that the only teams that can beat an SEC team is another SEC team therefore they believe no other teams should be in the playoff.

As FD says the playoffs are a sham.

Yeah remoh, Finebaum is the king of Alabama homers. I think he actually rates teams by "how close they are to Alabama"

I don't know remoh, if that was the case I don't think the majority of writers at ESPN would have picked Clemson to win the NC this year. 23 out of 43 of them chose Clemson. If ESPN was so hard up on the SEC, and they only thought other SEC teams could beat them... why would a majority of them pick an ACC team to win it all?

Funny thing is I was about to type that it was setup for Bama and Clemson to be in the playoff before the season even started. The hype train for those teams started in early August. It really doesn't matt matter what their schedule or record is, they're in. I'd even be that if one of them finishes with two losses they're still in.

But yes you're correct it's not only the SEC that ESPN loves.

Is Finebaum one of those that believes the Tide could play in the NFL and win?

While I haven't listed to him in a while, I'm sure you're not far off. He's probably made some jokes about how they could beat the Raiders or Giants.

I'd love to see Clemson go down to BC in a couple of weeks.

Honestly, this will probably surprise you but I want to see UCF in the playoff if they go undefeated. It's about time a group of 5 got in. Could go one of two ways though: 1. They show well and gain respect or 2. They get housed and we don't see another group of 5 for a while. Is that fair? No. But that's the way it will go I think. If UCF gets the nod, for are lower conference's sake they better show well.

That said, a lot could happen this weekend. Three big games with playoff implications this weekend: PSU/UM, Georgia/Kentucky, and Alabama/LSU. Even one upset from those three games could change a lot. Add Notre Dame/Northwestern & WVU/Texas to that list too... Huge games there.

There's a real possibility of a lot of 2 loss teams by the end of the year. Amazing but true. Unfortunately we lost to OSU, so there's little chance of use making the title game. Which is sad because this could be the year a 2 loss gets in. Quite possible that the Big Ten, PAC 12, and Big 12 all have 2 loss champs. We shall see!

I'm also hoping for UCF to get in. It's about time someone else gets a chance and as you kinda said it will either open the flood gates or permanently slam them shut.

SPF, I find it works much better when you utilize the "sarcasm" font.
