The minute the LSU job opened up there was speculation about possible coaches to replace ED O.and JF's name kept popping up. Looks like Kelly might be leaving ND for LSU.
That doesn't seem like a good fit to me.

Why? He’s as slimy as they come. He’ll fit in perfectly in Baton Rouge and he won’t have to worry about academics when recruiting.
Because he gets out coached in big games almost as much as Franklin does and that won't age well in Baton Rouge.

@psujoe Oh I agree with you there. He’ll be exposed big time in the SEC and wouldn’t be able to play the service academies and cherry-pick the doormats of the ACC. They are a fickle fanbase. Win a national title then forced out 2 years later. Good luck Kelly, don’t let the door hit you in the ….
He has a history of bailing on teams before the end of the season. Classy guy.
Hard to pass up $15 million a year. 6 million more than any college coach is currently making 😳
Sounds like Matt Campbell is the favorite to get the ND job
@psujoeI would guess Fickell, but don’t sleep on the Urban Meyer to ND idea. He has ties there and would clean up in recruiting to ND.
WOW! I really didn't think that would happen but $15 M has a loud voice. That is really sticking it to ND considering they have a solid chance to make it the CFP. I'd love to hear what CultureThrives has to say.
I don’t think he gets out coached to many times he usually loses to teams with better players. He will not win a NC at ND because I don’t think they are good enough on defense but that changes at LSU because they will be good enough on defense. This is a great get by LSU I bet Saban knows his dominating of the west is over. Saban will still win his fair share he just won’t dominate like he’s been doing.
And to think that perhaps a few more wins by Franklin and LSU could have/would have him and they could save a few million bucks.
I don’t see AL having a serious let down as long as Saban is there regardless of who else is coaching in the SEC unless they flat out out recruit him. When he leaves that is gonna be a tough act to follow.
It's funny we are talking about Saban dominating the SEC, and now LSU has a chance... when LSU won a National Title 2 years ago!
Details emerge... Kelly isn't being paid anywhere close to $15 million a year, he signed a 10 year, $95 million contract. That's the same number Mel Tucker signed with Michigan State. Still a lot.
Brian Kelly gets a bad wrap as a guy who jumps ship, I noticed that in the forums. He was at ND for over a decade, and I'm sure was courted by many schools over that period. Also, his first gig at Grand Valley State lasted over a decade as well. I think Cincinnati is just sour at how he left them after 4 years, but heck... he did turn them into a winning program right?
LSU won their last championship with a mind boggling team. That type of team is few and far between. If Kelly can pull off a sabanesqe type of program in the SEC, my hat is off to him. I think he has done a tremendous job at ND considering what I guess are the rules they play by with recruits and admissions. I also think he is good for the SEC from a competition standpoint and is playing by the same rules going forward (?).
Saban got the motor running in his second year as HC and the peddle has been pretty much on the floor board for the last 11 years. That is sustainability.
Oh LSU let the Jester, or whatever they called him stay a while.
LSU is interesting, Orjeron won with the prior guys recruits and yet they ran him out? Why did they run the prior guy out before he got to coach his recruits? Did they decide Orjeron can't recruit? Anybody see a problem with LSU?
I have little data on LSU, just a quick weak perspective.

I think it was more than just x's and o's
