Or does anyone else get the sense that many of the early draftees are leaving because the young talent behind them was probably going to take playing time from them next year?
I think if anyone hurts the most, it is probably Givens.
Good point.
Kids not playing in Bowl games and the increasing number leaving early is being driven by professional sport agents. They don’t give a hoot about what is best for their clients, they just want lots of money as soon as they can get their hands on it.
At what point will the typical fan walk away?

Sports agents can't talk to kids until they declare, so unless they are breaking the rules they aren't advising kids to do anything. In rare occasions a few players have been ineligible for bowl games they wanted to play in recently because it was found out that they had talked to agents.
I think the message is getting out without direct contact. Just like SEC schools cleverly circumvent recruiting rules, agents have their own way of accomplishing their objectives.
