Off to see The Rolling Stones in Detroit tonight. Best dam Rock N Roll band ever but their best music ended after "Some Girls" album. One more bucket list checked off. Still wish I had seen the Allman Bros.
If u get a chance, go see Billy Strings. Mind-blowing good ol bluegrass, originals and throw in some psychedelic acoustic jam and personalised covers..
Enjoy that Lake. I've seen the Stones a time or two myself and they always put on a great show:
My Top five bands I've seen live:
1. Cream and Zepplin
3. Little Feat
4. Stones
5. Eagles
Top five for me (some obscure for most people):
Jefferson Airplane
Emmylou Harris
Cowboy Junkies
Mandolin Orange
Renaissance
Okay I’ll throw out a few:can’t remember all the years or necessarily how I got there or back home, lol:
Crosby Stills and Nash: so glad I got to see Stills, incredible guitarist.
George Thorogood.
Grateful Dead: 95’ RFK
Pink Floyd
@psu61: saw them in '77 ( I think) when Lowell George was still alive

Hold on there Big Guy, I seem to remember you being all jacked up bout a Hall and Oates concert you and the Mrs. attended. Did you forget to put them on the list?
Don't bogart that joint my friend!!!
@navylion: you remember that?? Man I was pissed when I learned the old gal bought those tickets!!
You know I got out of it right?? Had to go to a funeral. I figure when I get to the other side I'll thank him for taking one for the team!!

Look man, after you maneuver a while in this AOR, you learn very quickly to never to disregard or discard valuable intel!!
Always remember shipmate, loose lips sink ships!!!
@navylion I was all set to bust some balls, but ya beat me to it Navy!
BT, can never pass on a target of opportunity, he raised his head above the ridgeline so I had to take the shot!!
@tsuga May Jehovah bless Wolfe soul brother. I know he meant a lot to you.
@navylion and BT: Have your fun while you can boys. Unlike you two, I was never an Archies or Cowsills groupie.
@southern-psu-fan: Good old Wolfy. It actually wasn't his funeral but another bud from up here.
Wolfy passed away on Memorial Day a few years back. He went thru hell in Nam. Was pinned down by snipers for several hours and we weren't able to extract him till dark.
Hard to describe what he was trapped in but it was a concrete cylinder just big enough for him to fit into and the VC picked away at him ALL day long. I took a t&t in my lower leg trying to get to him. I often teased him that the only reason I pulled him out was because he had all the c-rats and I was getting hungry.
I was awarded the purple heart for the wound and bronze star for the rescue. Wolfy used to say that he did all the work and got nothing while I came over for supper and got rewarded!!
Till the day he died he would never go into a small room or even an elevator. Thanks for mentioning and remembering him SPF, he was a good man. I know he's getting the peace on the other side that he never had on earth.

SO MUCH RESPECT!!!!!
@navylion: I like the way you guys bust each others balls. Its cool to see old friends go at it!!! I'm here laughing at the Hall and Oates tickets!!! Seriously, you three guys crack me up
@tsuga: Wow!! Like the song says "that's something to be proud of". If you dont mind my asking, what is T&T?? Ok, I know that T&T is dynamite but what does it mean in this instance??
@tsuga Yep. I used to read about Archie & Jughead...right along w/ Spy vs Spy in Mad mag. Cowsills, aren't they those yellow flower that grow in swamps? Oh, wait, those are cowslips.
I was more of a High times magazine, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabath, Stones type of kid.... With all do respect, got to remember, I'm not as old as you 2 relics...
@t-hale We have a good time here! Bunch of great people!!! Glad your liking it here!! Relax, get comfortable, won't be long before we pry some stuff out of you to use it against you later!! LOL!!!
@t-hale: if the truth were to be told, I really don't like either of those guys but our wives are all good friends so we have to pretend to like each other. When NL and BT were mere babies, their mothers had to tie a pork chop around their neck so the dog would play with them.
Seriously though, like our buddy Navy said, "relax and get comfortable here" it really is a great group of guys here. We even have a token Notre Dame fan (Culture Thrives) who's a hellofa nice guy in spite of his choice of teams to follow.
T&T means "through and through". Some referred to it as "a million dollar wound" as there was little rehab or damage and often times it led to a plane or boat ride home. In the engagement I was involved in, many of us that received minor wounds stayed with our units till the result was determined and the objective was accomplished.
