If the 12 team plyoff started this year, after the current CFP rankings, here would be our first round matchup:
- 11 Penn State Nittany Lions (9-2, At-Large) at 6 Oregon Ducks (10-1, At-Large)
We’d get a total beating in that one.
42-13 Ducks win.
On to the 2nd round baby lol
So now you’re saying stars don’t matter ? In another thread you claim stars matter and Oregon has been out recruiting us forever.
Or is it your same old warped narrative that USC is the only team from the PAC that can be good?
Oregon will immediately jump us in the B1G pecking order next season, they recruit nationally and are close to being elite.
@southern-psu-fan Southern, yeah PSUJoe is right... why don't recruits and how highly they are rated matter when talking about Oregon? You've mentioned in other threads that it matters who's on your team and how good they are. Oregon has outrecruited us 4 of the last 5 years. So why when talking about them doesn't it matter, but when discussing Alabama it does?
@roaminglion because they don’t get the defensive players that the big 10 and SEC gets especially on the DL. Surely y’all know that.
@southern-psu-fan SMH. But then their offenses must be stacked if all the talent is on that side of the ball? Or does that not count too?
@roaminglion it counts and I’ve always give the PAC credit for offense. You can look at the NFL and see the PAC does a good job on offense especially at QB. They’re also good at the skilled positions on on offense but when it comes to defense theres a big drop off and that why they struggle when they play the heavyweights of the big 10 and SEC.
Oregon had 6 4star D’line recruits in their 2023 class alone. They’re kicking our ass at that too.

Them numbers above don’t lie homer. USC is 13th the first PAC team and when USC has a good coach they’ll be higher probably top 5 just like ole southern said. You can cherry pick anything but them numbers tell you the truth baby! I can’t prove top 5 it’s my opinion
https://www.ncaa.com/news/football/article/2023-09-06/colleges-most-players-nfl-opening-night-rosters?amp. The article did come through lol
The Pac 12 is 8-5 vs the Big Ten in the last 13 Rose Bowl games the two conferences played each other. Oregon, Stanford, and USC have all won.@roaminglion it counts and I’ve always give the PAC credit for offense. You can look at the NFL and see the PAC does a good job on offense especially at QB. They’re also good at the skilled positions on on offense but when it comes to defense theres a big drop off and that why they struggle when they play the heavyweights of the big 10 and SEC.
So what is the excuse now... "down years?"
@southern-psu-fan why do I care about that and wtf does that have to do with wins and losses in CFB today? I c ouldn’t care less about the NFL.
That post made no sense at all, I’m talking about college football and college football recruiting today and he somehow twists it into something about which schools have the most players in the NFL.
I’m not cherry picking anything, Oregon is out recruiting us and like I stated earlier they recruit nationally.
I would have to see how the bowl structure was the years and figure out why the PAC is 8-5 but if I was guessing it would be because the big 10 had their Champion in the playoffs or BCS.
Looks who’s winning the NC’s homer. There’s a reason the PAC gets beat and sometimes destroyed when they play the heavyweights of the big 10 and SEC. Show me the teams sending guys to the NFL and I’ll show you teams kicking ass…it’s that simple! You know exactly what I’m talking about.
In 2016 the Big Ten Champ lost to the third place Pac12 team. So already you're starting behind.I would have to see how the bowl structure was the years and figure out why the PAC is 8-5 but if I was guessing it would be because the big 10 had their Champion in the playoffs or BCS.

You were presented with a fact and said "well let me look at what excuse I can come up with for why the Pac 12 won thosr games"
@roaminglion 2022 PAC champ Utah lost to the 3rd place big 10 Penn St 35-21….You do know I pull for the PAC teams over the big 10 teams unless it’s Penn St, right? I don’t like the big 10 Roam and unless one is playing Georgia I hope they all lose but I know enough about football to see the big 10 conference is much better than the PAC.
So? Same thing happened in 2016 when we lost to USC.@roaminglion 2022 PAC champ Utah lost to the 3rd place big 10 Penn St 35-21….You do know I pull for the PAC teams over the big 10 teams unless it’s Penn St, right? Same stuff with you always... We lose, it doesnt count. Pac 12 loses, it proves they suck.
You are all excuses... Fact is The Pac 12 beats the Big Ten more often than not in the Rose bowl. And if you go back even further, it's kinda a bloodbath with the Pac kicking the crap out of the Big Ten.
Only 4 Big Ten teams have a winning record against the Pac... and Ohio State isnt one of them.
You constantly say on field results matter... At what point do you actually act like it?

Once again, what are you even talking about? When the rose bowl was annually the BigTen vs PAC12 champion the PAC DOMINATED.
And for the record it wasn’t always USC that was winning.
@psujoe what are you talking about remoh? The article that I posted is about the NFL players today that’s playing so the 70’s and 80’s and even the 90’s doesn’t count. The PAC is way behind the SEC and Big 10 having players in the NFL today and that’s why they struggle playing the heavyweights. If you notice the SEC puts the most and you see who’s winning all the NC’s the last 15 years. Show me teams putting guys in the NFL and I’ll show you teams kicking everybody’s ass. The stats don’t lie.
i totally agree with your statement if we’re talking all time but the article is about today or this year. Ohio St was average for 20 years before Penn St got in the big 10…the big 10 stunk.
1. Conferences aren't teams... Oregon is among the top fifteen colleges with the most players in the nfl. As are USC and Washington.@psujoe what are you talking about remoh? 2. I'm not sure you understood what you posted, considering that the PAC has the least amount of teams of any Power 5 Conference. Every other conference has more teams, so it's not surprising they would have the lowest number of players in the NFL.
If you wanted to make a good point, maybe you should have posted the average number of players per team rather than the overall players per conference.
3. You keep saying they can't play with the big boys, but just completely disregard that they have a better record against the Big Ten. I checked... most of the rose bowls were champion against champion.
... "The pac 12 can't play against the Big 10's big boys, well, errrr.... except when they win more often than not but we don't talk about that. Because, errr... reasons?"

The article did break it down per team I just copied down to Oregon. Alabama is doubling Oregon and IMO that’s why Alabama is in the hunt for the NC every year. Give Oregon the right QB and they can compete but like Penn St they better have the right QB. IMO Penn St has a better defense and that gives them a leg up on Oregon but both teams still need the right QB to win the NC. Auburn, Florida St and Clemson did it but that still very few teams. Stars always matter but that doesn’t mean a team like Clemson can’t recruit a NFL QB and win a NC because they did and did it 2 teams lately. IMO James Franklin knows what he’s doing, he’s just got to get the right QB in here and we’ll win a NC.
