On the one hand, you wanmtch Oregon and see how Ohio State played them... OSU is a damn good team. So is Oregon.
People, IMO... made way too much about the Nebraska game. Total trap game for OSU, after Oregon and before us. They lost by 1 on the road cross country and could have had a chance to win.
We played them well for 4 quarters. Close game throughout, it never seemed like a blow out. I think we are definitely a top 10 team based on today.
THAT SAID...
I just have zero confidence Franklin can win a big game against anyone in the Top 10. Does anyone? It's 10 years of this chit... HE. JUST. CAN'T. BEAT. THESE. TEAMS.
Man I hope I am wrong, and we get to the playoffs and make some noise. But deep down... part of me knows what's coming... 10-2. Y'all can't twll me you aren't scare of yet another dumb loss after a big loss. OSU/MSU all over again, I can feel it coming.
At this point, until shown otherwise... it's who Franklin is.
I feel it coming too 10-2 and a meaningless bowl game with a lot of opt-outs. And then of course, Southern’s endless list of excuses.
@psujoe I ain’t got any excuses today. The last 2 years Michigan and Ohio St we’re just better but this team is as good enough to beat Ohio St we just do the same stupid shit on offense. I know what I see when Pribula is on the field and the second half last week against Wisconsin was the best I’ve seen the offense look. The dumb ass coaches let him play 2 or 3 plays after he stepped in last week and help get the win. We didn’t have anything to lose to try. This offense isn’t good for DA and I don’t know why we recruited him anyway after the fudging disaster with Hack. Do the same stupid shit and you get the same stupid shit, it’s that simple. That dumb ass OC didn’t even try is what pisses me off. He just wants to do trick plays. Somebody please tell him trick plays don’t work 15 times a game.
If you think the best the offense has looked is 14 points vs. Wisconsin in a half I have no idea what the heck you've been watching all year@psujoe I ain’t got any excuses today. @roaminglion you might like all the trick plays when I don’t.
I just watched A&M player make a good tackle and step over the SCAR player and the ref didn’t call a penalty. That was a BS penalty that changed the momentum of the game.
Roam......that was a long day and another painful one to say the least. I don't care were they have Allar rated in the QBR, he is ONLY rated high because of the schedule they play. The same goes with JF. 3-18 against top 10 teams is pathetic for this program under JF. I am not sure that Penn State is about winning National Championships any more, it's more about keeping the cash flow coming in and "THAT" JF has done well at.
Penn State was ranked #3 in the country, Allar is supposedly ranked as the #10 QB in the country and they didn't score an offensive TD against Ohio State.....making them the ONLY Big10 team who faced Ohio State ( this year) not to score one if I am correct.
Let's lay the cards on the table. 1st and 10 on the 3 yard line, down 20-13 with under 7 minutes to go. You know JF wanted to score a TD badley and THAT was the best plan he could draw up???? 3 runs up the middle and a pass? No Warren? No Singleton? We can blame the OC for this, but JF is the HC and he could have made his OWN decisions at that point! He was the one who was 1-9 again Ohio State!!
You think Penn State is a top 10 team after today. I thought they were BEFORE today and not so much now. ND and Miami would be a toss up IMO. The rest of the top 10 would beat us....just IMO. If the #3 team in the country can't score a TD against Ohio State, in their OWN HOUSE, in front of a record of 111,000 fans, you have issues and they are big ones. Ohio State did not play well today, they played ok, but not well. WHen you get a Pick 6 and 3 sacks, you would think there would be some momentum in your favor and there just wasn't any to speak of of.
Yes, I am worried about Washington next week. They are currently up 20-7 vs USC. The only thing in our favor is they have struggled/lost vs the Big10 on the road this year. Then you got MD who beat USC. And let's not forget Minny who beat USC and Illinois and we play them on the road. Three of the 4 remaining teams have played USC better than we did, so I have some big concerns the rest of this season! I don't think JF has the ability to get this team ready for next week after such of a let down today. I hope the players take it upon themselves to keep this season going!!!!
GO STATE!!!
@mtnittanylion DA threw a great pass that hit our WR in the hands, and what happened is he dropped it and the OSU db caught it for an INT.
Not exactly his fault. He played fine, he wasnt the reason we lost.
@mtnittanylion Anyone that thinks we’re a top ten team right now is just plain delusional. Our schedule has been pathetic, we played like sh@t for long stretches of time in almost every game and have beaten no one that will be ranked in the top 25 next week. Today was probably our best showing but it was basically the equivalent of our Super Bowl and as you stated obvious flaws were exposed.
And how good is OSU?
On the bright side, sPitt is getting the crap kicked out of them by SMU.
Who exactly is good then? Georgia who barley beat Kentucky and struggled today against Florida? Ohio State isn't good? They lost by 1 point to #1 Oregon after trevelling across the country.@mtnittanylion Anyone that thinks we’re a top ten team right now is just plain delusional. Miami? They needed the refs to overturn a hail mary to VT. Exactly who is good then? Clemson? They are losing to Louisville. Tennessee? Losing.
I hope we get a chance to show we are good in the playoff.
I don't think for a second Allar is why we lost.....it goes deeper than that and it has for years. I was at the game, so I didn't see the replay until I got home. I know what you are saying, but he had time to throw two more so I am not sure I agreed with his decision. But hey, I was in the stands and he was the one on the field making the decisions.....and he is just a kid!
What I do believe.....we didn't get the best Ohio State had to offer and we didn't take advantage of it! I don't blame one player on that field today! JF has consistently let games slip out of his hands and he is the one who lost another big opportunity!
Penn State has a good team! They deserved better today and JF couldn't produce....AGAIN!
GO STATE!

Point taken! I don't think there IS a great team this year. This is why I am more upset about this loss today. You watched the same game I watched today. Did Ohio State look like a National Championship team? Did Penn State?
I am starting to think Indiana may be the team to beat! Now wouldn't that be a kick in the butt to us all!
GO STATE!
@roaminglion Maybe you should compare some of those other teams SOS to ours. Before the season started our schedule was ranked pretty low and I’d bet it’s even worse because of USC’s flop. And I didn’t say OSU isn’t good, I asked how good are they because it sure doesn’t seem likke the team that was getting all that hype in the preseason
Miami? Clemson? Lmao, they play in the ACC. Their SoS is ass.@roaminglion Maybe you should compare some of those other teams SOS to ours. BYU? Don't make me laugh. Tennessee? They played Alabama, no one else ranked. A&M? Lost to ND and beat LSU... a team USC beat.
Those SoS's aren't great either.
Ok, I am tired and I am going to end my night saying this:
We lost to Ohio State, it sucked for us fans and sucked more for the players. BUT.....unlike previous years, we did NOT lose a chance at being National Champions over this. If you think we played like a top 10 team, gave Ohio State a big run for their money and they gave Oregon a run for THEIR money......then we still have a lot to play for!! This group of THREE should be the best in country, so regroup, move on and keep it going! The undefeated record is now off the table, so play FOOTBALL and forget about the number 1 in the loss column. It has NO significance in the out come of this season for PENN STATE.
GO STATE!
Well I was responding to PSUJoe... lmao.Ok, I am tired and I am going to end my night saying this:

Have a good night!
Far from an expert but my uneducated opinion is:
1) We have not hit on a top receiver. There were years we got lucky and one developed but that hasn't happened recently either. It hurts bad.
2) Aller and Beau are good enough. Given the right OL and receivers they are superstars...reference the many AL QB's....
3) We played OSU tough AGAIN. They are a top team AGAIN. We didn't get home field officiating...Never do against OSU or UM.
4) Losing big games at our rate is not just an in game coaching issue. It begins to be a mental/culture issue...still a leadership issue but players are leaders also...Mauti McGloin? I don't hear the word moxi anymore.
5) I wish we would play a game over our heads like the 2013 bunch did
6) All but about 10 programs would love our coaching.
7) The sky is not falling. We are ahead of where I expected.
@roaminglion I was waiting for you to look up the current in season SOS ratings. I did look briefly and the ratings I saw for us were 47 and 49 which is actually better than I thought.
When we start beating top 15 teams I’ll say we belong but until then I have us on the outside looking in.
Fair... not gonna argue that we perpetually sh*t the bed against top 10 teams. Though pretty much it's all OSU & Michigan lol.@roaminglion I was waiting for you to look up the current in season SOS ratings. 100% correct the top 10 teams are so close. The teams with the better QB that day usually wins.
I want to see Penn State play OSU in the playoffs with a non-Big 10 officiating crew. I hope the boys put this weekend behind them and take care of business.
@tae-buetel I said Saturday the reason Ohio St struggles against SEC teams in big games is they don’t get all the BS calls that change the momentum of the game and that’s what the big 10 refs do. And do you ever notice it’s in crucial times when these flags come out. That stepping over the players was a BS call and it cost us big time momentum Ohio St and Michigan don’t get these calls when it’s ACC or big 12 refs. Remember, we got replay in college football because of it.

What BS calls ? What are you talking about? That was a clean call. He taunted the player. If you don’t believe me ask Jack Hamm on Penn state radio. He said the same thing. Stop looking for excuses.
And i watched the A&M games and seen it done 2 times and no penalty was called. Refs can call penalties ever play but they only call ‘em when they see fit. It was a BS penalty that changed the momentum of the game.
