I realize I’ve been one of the biggest Drew Allar apologists. I can’t any longer. Even with glimpses of greatness there’s just too much you can’t ignore. I don’t know if I even want to watch the rest of the reason. The realization I’ve made watching Dante Moore and John Mateer is, hit the portal and get a good “college” QB not one developing into a pro.
Should’ve gone for 2 and the throat when we had Oregon on their heals. Their QB and offense is better so go for the win when you have a chance. Enjoy the rest of the season I just hope Grunk gets a shot in meaningful playing time.

Developing into a pro? You mean regressed every year for 3 years straight? I’ve been to a good portion of the whiteouts and that was by far the worst QB performance I’ve witnessed in any of them. Allar has destroyed any chance of becoming a first round or even a day two draft pick and will be lucky to be even drafted at all.
Allar just shrinks in the big moments. He gets there, and then... INT. Seems like every time.

Once again I’m gonna call BULLSHIT as the guy has sucked the entire season or have Nevada, FIU and Villanova been big games too? JF is gonna lose even more credibility if he doesn’t bench the guy.
We left the wrong guy walk as Pribula is by far the superior QB and Southern was right again.
I'm gonna call BULLSHIT on this effing nonsense if you think keeping Pribula would somehow magically make us able to win big games. That is straight up delusional. Since 2016 what QB has been capible of it?Allar just shrinks in the big moments. He gets there, and then... INT. Seems like every time.

The problem isn't a QB, no matter who is in there we lose these games. Time after time. We don’t develop the position
Roam, McSorely beat Ohio State and Michigan and won a big 10 championship baby and spent 5 or 6 years in the NFL so picking on this dude ain’t got a good look. Clifford beat the PAC champs and beat Michigan a few time it was our defense under Brent pry that was the problem back then. Go check the 2021 game against Michigan if you don’t believe me just watch the last 5 minutes we would’ve beat Michigan 3 straight times Clifford stepped up the defense give that game away.. 0-7 against the heavyweights. Pribula play on the field this year speaks for itself.
Botton line is DA kills anything you’re trying to do on offense against them he heavyweights. The dude kills the run game and chokes throwing the ball in crunch time 0-7 is our record in crunch time. In the end he kills the defense because he can’t move the chains. We let the better QB that gives us the best chance to win walk just like Georgia did and look at both teams last night…losses. What you gone do in crunch time when the game is on the line baby that’s what I’m talking about. DA is a bad fit for what we want to do on offense dude should’ve transferred to USC like I said 3 years ago. We knee deep in talent that’s why we’ll still go 10-2 and probably get beat in the playoffs and then it’s time to make a change unless Penn St is only satisfied beat Rutgers and teams like ‘em. This is what I see anyway. Vote the same shit, get the same shit and football ain’t any different you keep doing the same shit, you get the same 💩
SINCE 2016 means after. And Clifford won a bowl game who gives a shit. No one cares about a participation trophy in the playoff era.Roam, McSorely beat Ohio State and Michigan and won a big 10 championship baby and spent 5 or 6 years in the NFL so picking on this dude ain’t got a good look. If you are gonna sit hear and talk about a meaningless bowl game and not give credit for winning actual playoff games.... yeah I am out of that nonsense
Yeah, Franklin let the better QB walk, but that's water under the bridge and Pribula ain't coming back. The problem I have is that Franklin will not admit to his mistake in sticking with Allar. Think of the old definition of insanity..... Jimmy needs to bench Allar immediately and go with Grunk. He has a whole month of practice & 3 games to get him ready for OSU. Sure, their may be some growing pains, but at least we have a shot to maybe win a "big" one. If he sticks with Allar, we know what we'll get once again.
The only big game I can remember any PSU QB being responsible for winning under Franklin is McSorley in the Big Ten Championship. Against OSU he played like shit, we won on a blocked FG.
Ever since no matter who is QB we lose big games. A bowl game playing for nothing, means nothing. It's not 1980. Bowl games mean shit.
The problem isn't Allar. He is a symptom.
@roaminglion we beat the PAC champs Roam at least we didn’t lose. Believe what your eyes see. 0-7 correct me if I’m wrong but McSorely ran for a TD. Making plays to help win which he did.
This all I am going to say about this situation...#1...The offensive coordinator needs to be fired IMMEDIATELY...Time to fire the WR coach & QB coach immediately as well...The play calling was terrible all night until the 4th quarter...I place 70% of this debacle on these 3 coaches...#2...Time to sit Allar as he is NEVER going to win a big game...Some guys just ain't pressure ballplayers and he is one of them...I played ball with some tremendous ballplayers who just never seemed to be able to come through in the clutch...I have played with average players who always seemed to be at their best when the game was on the line...Some guys have it and some guys don't...He just don't have "the clutch factor"...He folds like a lawn chair every time...#3...Allar threw that interception to end the game but the play call was even worse than what Allar did...That game (in spite of how inept the offense was for 3 quarters) was Penn States to lose...They had the ball with the chance to win the ballgame...At that point in the game we had worn them down and were effectively running the football...I define effectively running the football as we could get 3 to 4 yards at will by that stage of the game...To run a pass play like that down the sideline and to throw that ball into triple coverage was absolutely criminal...#4...From what I have seen I don't believe Allar sees the field very well and has the ability to read defenses and scan the field very quickly...For a 3rd year starter I think that is partly on him and mostly on his coaching staff as to not identify the challenge he has and to either get him to improve or identify that he can't do it and move on to another player...He just seems slow through his progressions to me and as a result he is late on throws and that also contributes to throwing behind the receiver which he does more frequently than he should...
I am of the strong opinion after last nights debacle that they need to sit Allar as he will NEVER win one of these type of games...Fire the OC, QB coach & WR coach...These things aren't going to happen but I can tell you that as long as these folks are in their respective positions this team ain't winning nothing...I can see them losing to OSU, Indiana at home and at Iowa and all because of this OC and playing this QB...He just don't have it and they are delusional to think that magically this kid is going to change...They are mesmerized by his physical talent but if you can't make the right decisions and execute them quickly enough it is all for nothing...He got his 3 million dollars...He can sit down now and they should give the kid a chance and see how he does...We have watched what the 3 million dollar kid has done for 3 years now...Enough is enough...He can't do any worse than Allar...Who knows he may show you he has the clutch gene and we may win one of these tough close games against a top team...I know this much...History is clear about Allar...The verdict is in...He don't have it...No sense in wasting any more time...
The only thing Joe cares about is taking his victory lap. He’s cried for every back up to play and he’ll continue to do it. Guess what he’ll turn his back on Grunk next. He’s your average Pennsylvanian who is perpetually unhappy about everything but can never add any meaningful feedback. All we are going to hear about is how Pribula would have saved the day. I guess we have that luxury now since it’s just hypothetical.
@rip I agree RIP!
All we can do now is take the loss out on UCLA and if DA struggles put Grunk in and start the QB competition and let the best man play that gives us the best chance of winning! I ain’t giving up on the season we still have a lot of football to play, it’s one loss!
If you think beating the Pac 12 champs in a meaningless game with half their team opting out is better that winning two playoff games... yeah play.@roaminglion we beat the PAC champs Roam at least we didn’t lose. Believe what your eyes see. 0-7 correct me if I’m wrong but McSorely ran for a TD. Making plays to help win which he did.
I dont.
Ask youself this... would you rather win in the playoff or miss the playoff and win a bowl game? There is your answer to which is a bigger game
@roaminglion half their team wasn’t out. They may have had a couple out but we’d kick their ass regardless.
Gotta do something to get excited about and if feelings get hurt tough shit. Get a QB competition going in game time starting next week just like we do with RB’s. Allar must practice good but the QB is probably off limits to hit. Play both QB’s and let the best man play most of the game. Every game going forward give both QB’s playing time and we can get a better feel of who’s better and if it’s DA let him get most of the snaps just go with who has the hot hand.
@roaminglion it’s a different game now today than 2021 because of the 12 game playoff.
Beating Utah was not a big win. Yes many of their players opted out. In the playoff era those games mean nothing.@roaminglion it’s a different game now today than 2021 because of the 12 game playoff.
If you say you'd rather win a bowl game than a playoff game... you are lying
@roaminglion you see a difference in Utah, SMU and Boise and I don’t. These 3 teams are on the same playing level when we played ‘em. Actually Utah was probably better than the other 2.
