........have to be Cincinnati's Fickell, Minnesota's P.J. Fleck, Iowa State's Matt Campbell and of course, (soon to be available) Urban Meyer. I'm told lots of pretty girls in LA and Louisiana 🙂.Â
I'd say Fickell and Campbell are the front runners.
Fleck, meh.
Urban, I really don't know who would touch him right now, but X's and O's count.
@psu61  somebody that wants to win football games and don’t give a crap what anybody thinks. The SEC is eat up with ‘em lol
Meyer isn't going anywhere at the end of the year regardless of the teams record.Â

I was kidding about Meyer (as do most of my jokes that miss the mark). Â My whole point about the post was eluding to the inevitable angry mob looking for Franklin's head and possible replacement (which might not be a joke).
I would say there is an 80% chance he is gone at the end of this season to USC. Too many reasons for him not to go....professionally and personally. Some have suggested LSU is now a possibility, but I don't think so. Look at his whole picture and I think you can see where this USC thing just might have a lot of teeth!Â
I really believe JF is a good guy, wants to win, but he just doesn't have the knowledge to do so. He keeps trying to hire better assistance coaches, but Happy Valley is not a place where most of the assistance coaches want to land. JVP wasn't after the $$, hired some good solid coaches but he ALSO knew what he was doing as a coach. How many times did we see JVP on the sidelines nose to nose with the OC or DC ripping them apart? JF?? He just stands back, arms crossed and clueless! Did you see him yesterday in OT? The team was huddled together during a timeout and he was 10' away with arms crossed...he had no idea what to do or say! Saban was having a close game with Tennessee last night and he was walking around the sidelines face to face with his players encouraging them and firing them up! That is what ELITE coaches do! Young made some mistakes and I swear Saban had a 10 minute up and personal conversation with him!Â
Â
Penn State football is what you are witnessing this year as long as JF is the HC. And maybe that is all that Penn State wants now....win some games, go to a bowl, give the kids something to do on the weekends and call it the day!
Â
We need coaches that are invested in Penn State, not just looking to build their resumes. I know some of you guys will say those days are long gone, and you may be right. But...... in my opinion that is what is missing and if you look hard enough, you may find a few of these dinosaurs lurking around today!

We saw JF with arms crossed at that time as did everyone around us and he was getting an earful from a lot of people in the stands. He looked like the same coach we had last year, like he has checked out and really doesn't want to be here.Â
Sadly the PSU fanbase is mostly complacent and really doesn't care about winning B1G titles or contending for a NC and losing to UM and OSU 75 percent of the time is acceptable as long as we're winning 50 - 55 percent of the games vs lowly Iowa and MSU.Â

@rip Those guys are long gone.....To much pressure to win, too much glory when you do, too much money....too much whatever else you may add..
Damnit just call Mike Leach and bring him on board, talk about excitement and funny as hell pressers; that would be worth the ticket price.
@lakerie .Thanks lake ...as Im sure you know , any victory over the Trojans is sweet for an Irish fan, even when they are down..Speaking of coaches, their sidelines sure had their moments of chaos last nite...

2 of my nephews went to ND. One even managed the football team for a year during the Faust years. I've been a guest at 3 games and treated very well while wearing Penn State gear.
Good to hear Lake..With my 50th trip to ND now complete this yr, over 47 yrs, would have been 48 straight, if not for pandemic, I can honestly say I have never seen visiting fans harassed, and that incudes big rivalry games with USC, Miami, etc,etc....I contrast that with my NFL experience as a Eagles season ticket holder..lol
Joe, I am part of the PSU fan base and you really don't speak for me.
I'm glad to hear that but take a look around this forum and you'll see what I'm talking about.

For a guy who constantly says I'm the one who "thinks he's always right", he really does like to tell others what they "really think" and how much he knows what's best for the fanbase.

Sorry idiot but saying a fanbase is mostly complacent isn't telling everyone what they think and my point was proven by you and your old senile geezer friend over in that other thread.

LMAO, and your point was proven! Because you're always right I guess. Thanks for again telling me what I think and what I believe, you're a true mind reader.

Remoh: calling BT a senile old geezer is childish and immature. You don't even know him.

Dammit Roam, knock it off. If you keep getting him riled up he'll cancel his fishing trip to Idaho again. The local Idaho economy is still trying to recover from the first blow.
@tsuga Huh? What? I just woke up from my nap. Hot coaches? Oh, we talking redheads?
