My personal opinion is that the whole thing is convoluted...You have a conference championship game and a conference champion and a runner up...That is why you play a regular season...You sort out who are the best teams in your conference...So we played a season and you had 8 teams play in conference championship games from the Big 4 power conferences...They just got into the tournament...Now you put in from the group of 5 and now you have 9 teams...Pick 3 teams at large...Simple...All this happy horseshit about rankings and eye tests is pure folly...You play a season and the conference games sort out who the best teams from a conference are...They should get in...Games gotta matter...This ain't a fricken beauty contest...It's all a ruse of elaborate machinations to put in the sacred cows that ESPN wants in for rankings and to feather their business interests...Putting 5 teams from one conference into a 12 team national championship tournament is just ridiculous and turns the whole thing into a farce...I don't give a rip what conference it is...NO conference should have more than 4 teams in a 12 team tournament...
Sure the Tide makes it in. They were arguing before the game that they shouldn't be punished for having a conference playoff. Some years the schedule is so soft without a playoff. Look at Nebraska this year and our schedule next year. You let a 3 loss B10 or SEC Team in but you argue against a conference championship? Must not like the conference getting the $. Sure the NCAA would go to 16 and take more.
Fixed
So we punish winners, and do nothing to losers... because of Notre Dame?So the committee leaves out FSU, dropping them down in the rankings after winning their championship game. Then two years later the committee says "we can't punish teams for losing their championship game"They made it to their conference championship game and it was decided in the off season that teams will not be punished for
....but they can be punished after winning the championship game? Like FSU was? LOL Convienent.
Oh now you’re using southerns logic and picking whatever year supports the logic?
...and my logic is the one that's flawed? So one year it's okay to punish winners... but we can't punish losers? Um....
OK let’s go by your logic and when ND gets into the playoff every season for the next 5-10 years without participating in a conference championship game I don’t want to see either of you 2 guys bitching about it because that’s exactly what you’re arguing for.

I didn’t say that. I said if you’re gonna argue for what you are it makes no sense to bitch when ND gets a free pass every year because i know its only a matter of time until you guys do.
IMO Alabama and Duke should be in the playoffs! ND and Miami didn’t get it done
I still think I have the best solution...The power 4 gets the 2 teams in that played in their respective conference championship games, The gang of 5 gets 1 team in and you pick 3 at large teams...NO conference should get more than 4 teams in and frankly I think a conference should be capped at 3...Notre Dame would be served notice...Join a conference or be prepared to be left out...Having 5 or 6 teams from one conference in is ridiculous...Why bother playing a regular season?
Meh, I don't really care much about what ND does or doesn't do.So we punish winners, and do nothing to losers... because of Notre Dame?So the committee leaves out FSU, dropping them down in the rankings after winning their championship game. Every 'fix' seems to give more $ to the Networks and the NCAA. They are 'creating/promoting' the problem so they can fix it for themselves.
I say the SEC and B10 have their conference champ and then send the winners to the superbowl. Keep all the $. Some sarcasm....
