@been-there-ii

That's what I said after Oregon, UCLA, Northwestern, and Iowa!

@southern-psu-fan How is the tweet full of it? I think there’s probably at least a 60percent chance that we’re hiring a guy no one is talking about or has talked about very little.

@psujoe the dude from locked on nittany lion has been talking DeBeor since JF got fired Elko and DeBeor is all he’s talked. DeBeor might be the guy but to say he’s not been talked about just ain’t true. We’ve even talked about him here.

Besides here at the Nits I don’t ever hear Manny being talked about. We do here because of me and RIP but not much anywhere else. You’ll hear is name every now and then but not much considering the success he had as our DC.

Is it a splash hire when you hire a coach that gets fired for losing? Wait on a coach to lose so you can get him just doesn’t make sense to me.

The dude at N. Texas is a coach nobody is talking about and is he on the list? He’s not a splash hire what we were told but the dude is doing pretty good down there. Never mind Oklahoma St hired him lol good hire for Oklahoma St

Ryan Day; $15M/yr; 5 year contract with $500K bonus or increase for each Big Champ and $1M bonus or increase for each Natty; years 4-5 escalating $1M/yr based on performance metrics with no buyout from either side, if you wanna be here that's great if not that's okay; that's a HC no one is talking about that would be a shock and awe.

Bottom line, whoever it is has to be able to up the talent level depth wise and pull it all together.

One thing I’m sure of is that Tsuga and Kid know who it is and my Brother in law may too but no one is talking. The new coach is allegedly signed or close to being signed with only a few details to be worked out. Hopefully they get the news breaks after tomorrow’s game.

@psujoe whoever it is homer we all need to get on board and hope we start winning championships. If my guy doesn’t get the job no sour feelings from me I’m on board with whoever they get. I got my guy James Franklin last time but sometimes we don’t get our guy. If there’s a coach out there that’s not my guy and he gets the job I hope it’s Hartline..just saying lol

The Tulane coach has done a good job too. You never know

My son-in-law is a huge Tide fan and he told me last night over thanksgiving supper we can have Debeor and I told him he can stay in Tuscaloosa as far as I’m concerned. We won’t beat Ohio St with this dude as HC. If he’s the guy then I’ll pull for him but the dude on locked on has been talking DeBeor for a month so that X tweet thing is full of it.

Why do you say that? He beat Georgia both times he played them and also 4 ranked teams in a row this year. Not sure why you think he can't beat OSU?

@southern-psu-fan James Franklin is a slimeball. Multiple reports and one tweet from a recruits father say he had his recruiting staff tell recruits to decommit from Penn State. And members of his recruiting staff did this while they were still employed by PSU.

He did the same thing to Vandy recruits wham he left there, and no one cared because they came here.

I knew this was coming, and honestly don't care. It was good for us 12 years ago, so I'm not worked up about it now.

No it’s not the same thing. He was fired at PSU and had his recruiting staff while they were still employed at PSU tell recruits to decommit. There are recruits parents reporting this.

@psujoe  in all honesty James franklins job now is to 100% look after and do what possible to make VT better as long as he’s following the rules. If it’s against the rules he’s a slimeball but if it’s not against the rules there’s no gentlemen’s agreement, it’s dog eat dog baby.

If the staff members were on PSU payroll at the time they were delivering the message to decommit (at Franklin's direction), he definitely is a slime ball!

They were employed by PSUat the time but the guy at the center of the reports is now employed by VT.

Then that is their problem, not his. He isn't employed by PSU, they are. I just don't care

@roaminglion because playing in the big 10 he won’t have equal players to Ohio St and Michigan is the only team that doesn’t get screwed by the Refs when games are on the line. It’s a few things

The "search" has been interesting.  Several schools have been forced to spend cash to keep their coaches --- Indiana, Nebraska, Missouri, Vandy.

Maybe Josh "Believe the Hype" Heupel is a target.  His extension was signed in August 2025 and carries him through Jan 2030 but his buyout is only $8m.    From the linked article, "If Heupel left UT on his own before Dec. 15, 2025, he would owe the university $8 million".

FFS.. he beats #3 Texas at Washington and there is some excuse. He beats #2 Georgia, #5 Oregon and there's some excuse.

Always some goalpost shifting excuse. I am sure somehow you're going to tell me #3 Texas didn't have the players that Washington did??? When he was in the "soft" Pac 12 that Oregon came from and won the Big 10 last year?

This coaching announcement is going to be VERY interesting...I am telling you guys Cignetti is still in play...15 million buyout in this current environment is peanuts...I am 100% certain whoever they bring in is going to be a big name, seasoned and PROVEN winner...I really believe this hire is going to really energize the program...I am just amazed at the secrecy and that is what makes me believe this guy is going to be a biggie...

It's not Cignetti, he is not leaving.

Say what??? What is that supposed to mean? And now please explain why you think Manny “is the man” despite his failures as a head coach and why he is so much better than DeBoer who has won at every level.
