Can you PLEASE send out your WAY TOO EARLY preseason ranking for 2023? You have got to be chomping at the bits after yesterdays performance. Take your time, you got to factor in Allar being a new QB with limited playing time, but there is enough here for you make a nice SOUTHERN educated guess!!
Man, was that Rose Bowl game fun to watch!!!
GO STATE!!
The true way to early top 5. We only rank the top 5 teams here at nits of the round table because this is where the big dawgs play!
#1 Georgia
#2 Alabama
#3 LSU
#4 michigan
#5 Ohio State
I have Penn State on the outside looking in.
Are you saying we'll have to beat either Meatchicken, the Suckeyes or hopefully both to crack the top 5?
Tennessee is another team I’d have right there with us but I believe we’re a little better. Georgia and Bama are loaded and I look for LSU to be very good. If Allar pans out we should get one win between Ohio St and Michigan. It’s hard for me to rank us above michigan and Ohio State until we start beating them. If that top 3 don’t get the funeral director back in here nothing will 😂 I ain’t giving up FD I ain’t got it in me, get your butt back in here and have some fun we won the Rose Bowl baby
I believe have a couple of QB’s that’s supposed to be pretty good but man I hate CV transferred.
Not happy to see him go, but can't really blame him.
My thoughts on possible Top 10 rankings in the polls:
- Georgia - Reloading, their recruiting has been stellar and lots back
- Michigan - A lot returning from a very good team. JJ McCarthy will get better
- Ohio State - Need to replace some people, but recruiting is high. QB is a big loss, I actually think they will take a step back next year, but preseason should be ranked high
- Alabama - Looked real good in the bowl game, but they will lose Bryce Young. The backup doesn't look nearly as good, so they are in a similar situation as Ohio State. Need to find a reliable signal caller quick.
- USC - Heisman QB will be back, and the offense is loaded. I fully expect them to fire the DC and bring in a big name to shore up the defense. This is 4 years of the DC not getting it done, and Lincoln Riley keeps bringing him back. Think he's gone, USC will pay for a good DC.
- Clemson - New kid took over late in the season at QB, looked decent but lacking experience. Though everyone thought Ungulelei was the answer too, so we'll see. (I'd put us ahead of them, but don't think polls will)
- Penn State - Lose our QB just like OSU and Alabama, but many think it's actually an upgrade rather than downgrade. Should Allar be the guy, the offense will soar and we will contend for the Big Ten title and spot in the CFP.
- Oregon - Bo Nix back is big for the Ducks, and in year 2 with Dan Lanning I'd expect Oregon to get better... especially on defense. The guy was DC for Georgia and built their D, which is pretty good.
- Notre Dame - Very impressed at what 1st year coach was able to do there. Took some early bad losses, but really turned it around without a good QB to count on. Reports are Hartman from Wake is transferring there, and if so the QB won't be an issue in 2023. (And they are ND, so the polls will have them high)
- Texas - This one is more of a joke than anything, but it's your yearly overranking of Texas because they're Texas.
Teams I left out:
- Tennessee - Lose 2 best WRs and Heisman candidate QB. The offense won't be anything like it was this year. Still good, but not top 10.
- LSU - Just not sure about them, but the polls may have them in top 10 regardless.
- TCU - Lose Heisman QB and their great WR to draft. Will be hard to replicate this season
- K-State - Not in top 10 after that bowl performance
- Utah - Losing some big players, including their spirit guide QB. He practically willed that team to victories.
I like LSU because their QB and good WR will be back plus it’s Kelly second year. I agree about Oregon but USC has to get better on defense but you’re probably right they’ll be in the top 10. I’m about to give up on Texas. I like Clemson if they can get the QB position fixed.
If Hairball goes pro, Meatchicken will be an unknown, depending on who they bring in as HC.

Would be interesting to see what happens to the team if he leaves... On one hand they could galvanize and carry a chip on their shoulder for next year, or it could be a portal exodus as soon as he's gone
I saw where their fans are already speculating on replacements. A lot of them are talking up Urbs! I don't think that would ever happen, but if it did, boy would that be interesting, LMAO!
Roam, I don’t know how the thumbs down happen 😂
@southern-psu-fan Freudian slip. You know you wanted to do it! 😉
I checked with my Pro-PSU coworkers, at work no less; rumors they heard, Meatychicken is looking at Franklin for HC
This is awesome BT. I miss the goat joe Paterno, it’s nice seeing clips like this buddy…thanks
