Not good, not good at all.  GA and Missouri just postponed today too.  I seriously don't see how they are going to get this season in.  I think what they need to do is just play each weekend with whoever is available and conduct BIZ as if this is just a scrimmage year.  This would be a good time to get these 2nd and 3rd stringers some playing time and who cares who is the best this year.  Trying to field your best players every week is not going to be easy....with the surge in cases.

Saves them the embarrassment of getting destroyed this week and losing to IU next week while continuing any recruiting momentum gained from the destruction of their hated rival to the north. Great move by Locks, will be interesting to see if they come back in time to play lowly Rutgers.

Said it the entire time, take this season as practice because whoever wins the NC didn't exactly go through a normal year.

Fun to watch games, but i never expected it to be or took it seriously

@psujoe Yeah, it is kind of a suspicious sounding coincidence.

I don't know what it looks like for everyone else where you live but here in Erie County, new covid cases are SKYROCKETING. I know it is all over the country but our rates of new, hospital and death rates are triple what they were a month ago. The PSAC athletic conferance ( Edinboro, Slippery Rock, Indiana, Pa, Gannon, Mercyhurst etc. ) cancelled all further fall sports, no word on winter sports as of yet.

@lakerie

Same, rates are getting so high my wife's hospital is putting travel restrictions on employees. Can't go anywhere without quarantining before coming back to work.

I personally believe that it's not a coincidence that the needle started going up shortly after colleges throughout the country started the fall semesters. Kids in that age group don't care and know as long as mommy and daddy continue to pay their tuition's that there is no real threat of serious punishment for their lack of following safety protocols.

Roam we had the same travel quarantine restrictions for awhile at the hospital I work at also regardless of what any local government mandates were. Recently cases have been going down here so they lifted the employee travel quarantine. Surprisingly cases have still been declining here even though they lifted quarantine restrictions (with testing and pain in the butt paperwork)on tourists which has dramatically increased. My guess is this won't last very long.

Here in Oregon the state expects Hospitals to his capacity in mid-December. I certainly hope they are wrong, that Pfizer Vaccine can't come soon enough!

That's gonna be tough on staffing since the quarantine is 14 days. Her facility could consider implementing a return to work testing by doing a rapid test on day of return or after 72 hours and go from there; rapid test results are back within 72 hours. If  asymptomatic, go back to work with mask and face shield. Just a thought.

@lakerie. Georgia is almost back to normal but I really can’t tell the difference we are wide open at work and the traffic stinks again. Everything looks good to me. 81, how does everything look in Alpharetta? Pretty busy when I come through there?

36 resident docs at a local teaching hospital (Upstate) are/were quarantined due to them all going to a Halloween party that someone tested positive afterward. Another fine example of "do as I say, not as I do".

Hello Guys, good to hear from everyone and see that you're all doing well.  I'm guessing that wrestling season will be put on hold too.  Looks like covid is the gift that keeps on giving.

That's what they will be doing, but they use the term "quarantine" to mean until the test comes back they can't work. That said, they really aren't allow to go anywhere anyway. LOL

Just curious, while staff are out on self/imposed quarantine, are they being paid as on administrative leave or using their own leave?

While this sounds like a really good strategy and I certainly would agree with it, I think we are going to need more tests than are available. We are already seeing this possibility at my facility. Hard to believe that 8 months into a pandemic we still don’t have enough tests, but that seems to be where we are headed. Once again, this could have been handled much better with some solid leadership.

Don’t let your guard down, Southern. GA may seem fine but if it is like it was back in the spring, you will be behind the northeast by a few weeks to months. The northeast is creeping back to March-April situation rather quickly. Rural PA went largely unscathed in the spring, but they are getting hit hard the last few weeks, now the overall numbers in PA are rising quickly. Schools are on the verge of going completely virtual again in some areas. Take care of yourself.

@lionbacker99 absolutely brother I’m more worried about my 76 year old uncle that lives with my daughter she’s 24 and works in sales and I’m scared to death she could get it and not know it and bring it home to him. I’m an odds man and Dr Fauci said 99% will be good and my uncle falls in that 1%. Y’all keep safe up there buddy it’s gettin worse from what the news says.

I'm actually not sure, but I would imagine they have to use their vacation days or be on non-paid leave considering they travelled while restricted to do so. However, as I said I don't really know.

Dr Fauci said there was no need for a shutdown so that’s some good news. It was on NPR news this morning. These talks of  shutdowns worry me more than the virus

Of course I think I’m about the only one that listens to Dr Fauci today lol. I know he’s changed his mind a few times but that’s ok if he gets it right he may have learned something new about what the virus does. I get some weird looks from people when I say his name like I’m an idiot for listening to him.  I always try and find the smartest person and listen to him but I could be wrong sometimes thinking whoever is the smartest person but I still believe he’s the man. BTW I’m very hard headed 😁
