We’ve had coaches come from other conferences like Rich Rod, Luke Fickle, Gerry DiNardo and Lincoln Riley that had lots of success and struggled in the big 10 as a HC. This ain’t my opinion it’s the facts, Kalen Deboer lost 3 games last year and had lost 3 games this year and he has top notch talent at Alabama. He did a good job at Washington but in the PAC your team didn’t get pounded every freaking weak like it does in the SEC and Big 10 your players stay healthier. Georgia beat the fudge out of Alabama in the conference championship game Alabama looked tired and beat down in that game just like they have the second half of this year. Alabama doesn’t look as physical as they did before DeBeor got there. If Michigan gets him it will be just as hard and I’m wondering if DeBeor Style of football will hold up at Alabama or Michigan because I’m not seeing it at Alabama. I’d rather see DeBeor go to Michigan than Manny Diaz because I know Michigan will be very physical if Manny gets that job by judging his track record as DC at Penn St. MC is all about being tough and physical because to win at Iowa State you have to be tough and physical and he proved it on the field beating Iowa. I don’t see DeBeor being any better at Michigan than I do at Alabama. I still picked Georgia to beat Alabama on my bowl card for the NC 😂 I’m rethinking that now lol

Debeor is a good coach and when he’s got a QB like Micheal Penix Jr it makes you look great. Look at Tom Allen when he had Penix Jr at indiana they were one of the best teams in the big 10 he beat us and DeBeor had him his Jr and Sr season. Special QB’s can make any coach look great …remember Cam? DeBeor is good but a little overrated imo

I would love to see Greg Schiano get a chance to coach somewhere like Michigan because I believe he could get it done. Greg is a damn good football coach and when Rutgers was in the big east he won 10 games there. Some of these power football teams like Penn State and Michigan won’t give the man a chance and I just don’t know why. I guess teams like the flash hire instead of a good hard nose football coach. Well I guess Penn St did hire MC but everybody been trying to get him for years. A team like auburn should’ve give Greg a chance.m and I would’ve probably paid off.

lol Let Schiano stay at Rutgers or go back to the ACC. He said he could win at Rutgers, he can't.

you can be the greatest coach in the history of football and if you don't have the talent you ain't winning football games...It's like putting the best jockey on a jackass and thinking that jackass can win the Kentucky Derby...One thing all of the great coaches have in common is they assess their players and put them in the best positions to succeed...At the end of the day it is up to the players to execute...

@southern-psu-fan  I'm with you, I don't want to see Manny Diaz at Michigan.   I feel that Manny brought an attitude of confidence, toughness, and determination when he arrived in Happy Valley that went across the entire team.  When he left, that attitude left with him.

@southern-psu-fan I believe it was during the Covid  season against Indiana.  Penix was down before the ball crossed the goal line.

Oh now I get it. He was a foot short that was a terrible call. Stupid coaching cost us that game. Tom Allen outsmarted James Franklin.

Enjoyed the interview.  He doesn't seem comfortable in a suit...unbuton the jacket and relax.

  • Toughness mental and physical
  • Discipline
  • Not collecting talent but fit and the attributes we want.

I still don't believe that when opportunities open up that coaches don't throw there hat in the ring but per his description he didn't and he told his AD immediately.

@southern-psu-fan Yes, he was short of the goal line. They gave him the score. Reviewed it, could easily see he came up short. Gave him the conversion anyway, we lost.

I am not worried about Manny Diaz and Michigan. He's a great DC but just an average HC. Duke lost 5 games and was left out because of it.

Not saying he sucks, but he aint elite.

@been-there-ii  I believe had we just kneeled the ball down we win that game but we ran a play and Indiana let us score so they could get the ball back but regardless he was short and replay still didn’t get it right and that’s the big 10 for you.

@roaminglion Manny just won the ACC outright for the first time in their history. The ACC is about like the big 12 it’s an average at best conference but it’s still hard to win the conference championship at Duke. The man needs another chance like LK got and he might prove to be elite. The only elite coaches I see out there now is Kirby and there’s a lot of just good coaches. You gotta win something consistently to be elite.

No it's not hard if a 7-5 team that lost to UConn did it. Sorry.

Yes and a 7-5 team won the conference. The ACC is an absolute joke and not hard to win at all.

ACC, perfect place for Schiano and Rutgers. Speaking of prime reasons why ACC teams shouldn't join the B1G, how does Locksley still have a job???

Tulane followed all the rules and won the conference championship fair and square.

Yet you say they should be out. I guess following the rules only counts when you want it to?
