No night game for us, we have the noon kickoff on Saturday.
- Friday 8pm: Indiana @ ND
- Saturday 12pm: SMU @ Penn State
- Saturday 4pm: Clemson @ Texas
- Saturday 8pm: Tennessee @ Ohio State
Seeding should pick their slot, this is a joke. More Norte Dame and Ohio State bootlicking from the networks.
Playing at 12 might an advantage for us against SMU, it’s probably going to be cold and hopefully snowing.
I have been impressed with this selection committee all season as they have done it exactly the way they were supposed to.I’m really impressed by the fact that they vowed they would not punish conference championship game losers. If it would be possible I would nominate these people to be permanent selection committee members if possible.
@psujoe I agree believe it or not. I heard the Michigan dude say we were told to rank the top 25 and that’s what we did and where the chips fall, they fall. Ain’t gotta problem with it. I would’ve rather played Alabama but SMU is pretty good. If we beat SMU and Boise does these count as big games? I say yes but it is SMU and Boise State we should beat ‘em.
@southern-psu-fan SMU and Boise state earned their way into the playoffs and Alabama did not. I also would rather play Bama and kick the crap out of them but as I said before it is what it is and the committee ignored the loud mouth and got it right for once
Although I don't like it, I'm thinking ND, TX, PSU, OSU. Chance Indy can take out ND? 33%?
I'd rather play a team that deserved to be there, and not a team that was curbstomped by 6-6 Oklahoma two weeks ago.@psujoe I agree believe it or not. Is SMU better than Alabama? Clemson just beat ‘em. ACC was down this year and don’t deserve 2 teams in the playoffs. Just trying to keep it reel.
Penn State calling for a White Out in home playoff game vs. SMU
Do want to add we can only beat who we play
@southern-psu-fan The ACC is what it has been , a shit conference with a constantly overrated Clemson at the top. Clemson has played no one for years and was always given a free pass into the playoff because the screaming loudmouths were infatuated with Dabo.
Miami completely decimated a Florida team that lost to Tennessee by 7 and barely lost to Ole Miss.Is SMU better than Alabama? Clemson just beat ‘em. ACC was down this year and don’t deserve 2 teams in the playoffs. Just trying to keep it reel.
Georgia Tech barely lost to the SEC Champion in 8 overtimes. Those were 2 ACC teams not even in the ACC Championship. Why would Alabama get in over SMU? SMU wouldnt lose to Oklahoma by 21 points, I can tell you that
Want to keep it real? A middle of the pack ACC team wouldn't take the SEC Champion to 8 overtimes if it was such a great conference.
SMU will be a very interesting matchup and so will Boise if we beat SMU. Boise State has upset teams like Oklahoma when Oklahoma was very good. I wanted Alabama just for the old clashes we use to have but these next 2 games will be fun. It will be really fun to play ND or Georgia assuming we win. I’m just glad to be in the playoffs baby.
The more I read the more I’m not liking this matchup. Too many people not giving SMU much of a chance to win and wondering if they should even be in the playoff. They are a good team built with P4 players through the portal and are going to come in with a serious chip on their shoulders. Also from what I’ve heard their weakness is their secondary and we have no one to exploit it.
We have a serious chip on our shoulder as well, everyone talking about how lucky we are to be there and how Ohio State and Oregon "dominated us".The more I read the more I’m not liking this matchup. Even though we outgained Oregon and it was a 1 score game. I think we will come out focus knowing that our stupid penalties played a huge part in our loss to Oregon. As well as turnovers.
Yep
While you should ever underestimate any team in the NIL/Portal era IE Bowling Green. Penn State has every advantage here, weather, home field, and roster talent. Beating USC on the road to me is much harder feat than SMU at home. This is SHOULD be a comfortable win. Jeanty provides a whole another issue if it comes to that. The expectation is to see ND/Georgia in the semifinals. While neither of these games are particularly big on their own the collective pair and how we handle them is how Franklin will be judged, nothing less than the semis will be acceptable to the fan base. Every projection I see has Penn State in the Natty based on comparable roster to ND and the uncertainty around Carson Beck. The games still have to be played obviously but this may be the best path Penn State will ever have to a nation championship. I suspect the SEC will have a ton of heart burn with the current format and this will most likely the last time you’ll see 5/6 seeds with a easier path than the 1/2.
@kularrow I agree brother! I’m pretty sure the team is smelling blood especially after the way Saturday night went. All the team can do now is Take it out on SMU.
My burning question is since it's a home game for us, do we have to put up with the sheetin' B1G refs?
@kularrow Next seasons playoff will most likely seed teams as they are ranked with no automatic byes for conference champions. The top 4 in the rankings will get a bye and 5 thru 12 play in the first round.
