Out in the forum, some threads seem to be in "Bold", while others are not. What is the reason for this?

Good question. It is not working perfectly just yet but the bold ones are ones that you have not read yet, or have a new post in them since the last time you read it. It's kind of designed to be a quick way to look at all the topics and see if any of them have new stuff since you least read them.
