So give me an example of when Urban Meyer took a million, 2 million, or 3 million dollar paycut to take another job? Or when he left a job after less than a season. Yeah, I'll wait.

Oh I'm sorry, must have been a different "roam" that posted that.

Prog

Lmao, it even says "or when he left a job after less than a season" and you're still trying to convince yourself I said it was only about money. Lolololololololololol

Keep on trolling champ

@roaminglion: Roam, I'm certainly not an expert but I'm guessing you're one, maybe two posts away from being called a libtard.

I think JF is probably one of the best fits for USC; great recruiter, seems to handle Adm in the background, has shown he can pull in some top notch assistants; I'd imagine he's a good booster guy also. Now, I've gotten to the point that as long as he does all those things consistently and progresses up the playoff chain, I'd hate to see'em leave.

Couldn't resist with the chatter that JF is on the want list. IMO, USC is the TX of the West coast at the moment; incredible home grown talent but .....

Who do see as the next USC coach?

I like JF as the Penn State HC.  I think he has done a nice job, has Penn State on the right track and has a great chance of having his best season yet....maybe, stay tuned, big game Saturday night!

BUT, he ain't no JVP. I get the jumping around these coaches do, can't blame one of them for taking a pay raise and advancing their careers. Coaching at Vandy and Coaching at Penn State is quite a difference and challenge.  But when I look at some of the top coaches of ALL TIME, they all had one thing in common.....they stayed put and created some of the best programs in country:

JVP....45 years at Penn State

Eddie Robinson.... 52 years at Grambling

Beamer....28 years at Vtech

Woody....27 years at Ohio State

Osborne....24 years at Nebraska

Bear....24 years at Bama

For Franklin to leave Penn State and go to USC.....that would be an ego thing and somebody who is after the "HYPE" and not a leader. If he would truly go, then we didn't have the right coach in place! He had a chance to end all of the speculation Tuesday at his preess conferencce. He could have simply said NOT INTERESTED and he failed to do that.....that was his EGO getting in his way.

Joe EARNED THE RIGHT to side step questions.  JF hasn't earned the right to anything at PENN STATE yet!! As far as I am concerned, he is riding the wave JVP created over 45 years!!

GO STATE!!

@mtnittanylion  Yeah, he could have, but, JF never said he wasn't leaving last time we had this same friggin' dog and pony show. He didn't leave last time, doubt he goes this time.

I read an article as to why JF doesn't just say no to USC. JF will say that he discusses it with his team but not with the media, basically because even if his intentions are never to leave PSU, it remains great leverage over PSU for more money in his own contract, his assistants and better facilities. Makes sense to me.

Honestly, I think it's because no matter what he says it won't matter. What is a coach supposed to do when the media will say anything they want anyway?

*Says nothing* = "Why doesn't he just say no?"
"No comment" = "He's trying to deflect, there's interest there"
"I don't want to talk about it" = "What's he hiding?"
"No, I'm not leaving" = "This is lip service, SOURCES say he's talking to someone at another school"
"I am definitly not leaving" = "Even Saban said this at Miami, trust us he's considering leaving"
"I signed a contract where the buyout is 500 million dollars" = "Some schools would pony up that money if they wanted him"
"On my mother's grave, I AM NOT LEAVING" = "Sources tell me that he didn't like his mother, so this is a red herring"
"I will die before leaving this school" = "He doesn't fear death, he's an atheist so it doesn't mean anything"

EXACTLY LAKE!!! Don't think it is an ego thing for 1 second (like somebody else insinuated). It's a business thing pure and simply!
