Philadelphia Inquirer released article about Franklin and FSU. Apparently there was interest between "both parties". That tells me Franklin inquired about it or interviewed by phone. Is it true or BS story? That we don't know.

My question is if Franklin leaves who would be possible candidates for PSU head coach?

Me thinks Franklin and agent are leveraging for a more lucrative contract. FSU is a dumpster  fire he would be crazy to take. He knows he will be 10-2 this year and probably better next year.

Yep I agree lake. Get this man a long term contract and tie him down for 10 years.

Simple, Matt Rhule, but I doubtful he would depart Baylor.  However I am confident Coach Franklin is staying.

@roaminglion

I'm not a huge fan of hiring past players Rhule is the exception...

I like Rhule, Fickell, & Norvell...

With that said Franklin is not going anywhere.

I think Franklin is taking the offer very seriously.  More money but more important in his mind is making it into the playoffs. He is probably thinking if he builds up FSU like he did PSU he will in the ACC championship game every year. No competition other than Clemson. At PSU he has to deal with OSU and Michigan every year. And the second best team in the ACC is like Indiana in B10. Much easier path to the playoffs. He gone.

Franklin not taking any of it seriously.

Sorry Franklin is PSU long term.  The ACC is the MAC with one team and Franklin is not taking a step backwards.

You're saying Baylor is a better job than PSU and Rhule would stay there if the Franklin left?  I believe he'd jump at the opportunity to coach at his Ala mater in a heart beat. I also want to say I hope Coach Franklin stays.

Looks like FSU has struck out on several coaches to include Franklin, Rhule, Stoops...

Moorehead was an offensive genius when he had Barkley and receivers that could catch. Good man and successful coach but he is not a magician.

JoMo strikes me as a Power 5 coordinator or a small school HC...

Mississippi State can have some nice 9 or 10 win seasons if they’ve got the right QB but if the fan base or school thinks they’re going to win that many games every year that’s unrealistic expectations. They should be satisfied to make a bowl game and hopefully get 7 or 8 wins.
