I guess now is the time to drag Franklin through the mud. I don't like it. A few years back he was godsend,  now he is a nobody to the fanbase.  Ok, I get it. He's not a good fit for the program or doesn't have the players. The man is doing the best he can with what he got. Better luck next time.

He is FAR FROM doing the best he can with what he has....6-4 is not what he has, it is what he created! The guy has hit his the ceiling with his ability!

It’s a difficult climb to the top. The journey has peaks and valleys. Although frustrating at times, I am am enjoying the ride.

I agree with you in that I really don't care for that kind of behaviour. But something is clearly not right with this team and he does have the talent to be better than his record this and last year. JF is the man at the top and accountable for what he puts on the field.

I know one thing any job if you could not meet the standards set for you you would have gotten fired.  losing 9 or more game in 2 years does meet my expectations, and Penn State fans should not expect it.  Maybe it is time for him to go.

@lakerie

PSU should pull a Michigan and cut JF's base salary by about half. Make the rest result driven. It worked wonders with Harbaugh.

@cohappy of course its time for him to go . the guy has a mental block on in game coaching decisions . the fake FG was so stupid i couldnt believe it . you are playing MICHIGAN . Very good defense .it will be a low scoring game bc of PS's defense . You take the 3 points to get the lead . Its no that difficult to approach the game wisely based on your opponent . I=f we want to get back to being a contender,we have to hold the standards like OSU ,BAMA ,etc. do . And 6-4 is way below standards that should be expected .

... when saying someone should be fired because they aren't getting the job done becomes "dragging them through the mud"

I’ve been watching James Franklin since his Vanderbilt days and I’m telling ya, his mind is not in the game he’s got something else going on we don’t know about and it’s a distraction and it’s beating us on the field. Even though he’s made bad decisions, we’ve been good enough to beat Illinois and Iowa his mind is not on Penn State and it’s showing up on the field.

Never know what's driving a person in one direction or the other; generally it's home or work.

If JF has checked out, then so be it; regardless of the reason, the man is being paid $6mill/year to do the job, and you don't pay nobody $6mill/yr to be a perianal 2-3 tier program within your on conference or from a national perspective.

I think JF is a better coach than many give him credit for. I just want him to clearly say that PSU is his destination job and he’s not going anywhere. Otherwise kick him out the door and bring in a coach that will commit to Penn State the way Joe did.

With cost of living adjustments USC would have to pay Franklin $8.5 million to have the same standard of living he has in State College.

One of the reasons I don't believe USC is as great a job as so many seem to think it is.

Sooo Penn State will essentially be coachless then. Sad to say, the breed of coach you desire died when JoePa did.

James is not a great X and O's coach I think we all knew this from the start, this however is not a good look when you watch him on the sideline and he is 50 yards from the line of scrimmage. Or why is he always one of the last people to join the huddle during timeouts. I'm not saying there isn't a reason for it, he could have been doing this all along but its certainly ironic given the rumors of him leaving.

Momma always said when your woman doesn’t care about what your hair looks like or doesn't want to spend time with you, it’s because someone else is courting her.
