What was the worse play call in JF's Penn State coaching career?
1) 4th and 5 vs Ohio State (in 2017) and he called a running play against one of the best D's in the country
2) 4th and 2 vs Michigan ( today ) and he throws a Hail Mary pass play that never had a chance
You may write in your own like the fake FG in the 1st quarter today. He said " he wanted to be aggressive". That is just absolutely a stupid comment! He is notorious for going for it on 4th down, so if you want to be aggressive, LET YOUR OFFENSE ON THE FIELD AND LET THEM GO FOR IT!!!
He pulled the same stunt tonight just like he did against Iowa. He relied to heavily on the defense!! When the defense caused the turn over in the 4th quarter, he played for a FG and he had NO intention of trying to score a TD. Yep, let's get the 3 and the defense will close the game! He is not the HC of PSU, he is the CEO! Yurcich is the HC of the Offense and Pry is the HC of the offense. When they have questions, they consult with JF. That is about all his involvement is anymore! My goodness, we all bust on Harbaugh, but when Penn State went up 17-14 and the defense huddled before they came back out on the field.....JF was 20 yards away with his arms crossed. When the Michigan offense went back out on the field down 17-14, Harbaugh was right smack in the middle of the huddle slapping the payers around, encouraging them and firing them up!
I don't know what you all were able to see on TV, but from my seat today in the stadium, Harbaugh 'Schooled" JF......just like Bielema did!
No doubt that Penn State was totally outcoached today...They had the better personnel and managed to give away a game they should have won by 2 TD's...
The play that stands out to me the most was on the last drive of the game...The first down play where he throws a deep go route and puts em in a 2nd and long...The 2nd down play wasn't much better and the rest is history...He had plenty of time and 3 time outs...Just work the ball up the field...a real headshaker to me...Like I said I have no idea who is calling the plays whether it is franklin or Yurcich but whoever it is has no clue...
IMO it’s running the ball against Indiana last year when the QB should’ve taken a knee to run the clock out. We are 10-9 since then. There is no excuse!!!
BINGO! That ranks right up there!! Let's stop this vote once it hits 100....should only take about an hour!!
This team should NOT be 6-4.....9-1 at worse. Ohio State is a better team even though Penn State had their chance....IMO. 6-4 is a rebuilding year and this is FAR from a rebuilding team! I think running an RPO is killing them this year....and one of the biggest reasons the offensive line is so terrible. The center is not doing a very good job blocking and the line can't get that push they need to open holes. If they abandon the RPO against Rutgers, I bet they would have 200 plus yards on the ground!
You need to adjust to what you have, not hope they adjust to what you want!
I am just frustrated! I don't think JF has what it takes and right now, I am not sure they win another game the rest of this entire season and they HAVE talent on both sides of the ball!! More than most of the top 10 teams right now!

Thet arent running an RPO system. We call a few RPOs here and there, but not a lot.
Calling some RPO doesnt mean that is your system, we run more of an Air Raid.
Yeah, well, they need to abandon THAT too! They didn't run ONE screen pass today and they rarely pass to backs successfully for any gain at all. They need to go back to the basics for right now and play some hard nose football the rest of this year!

Hard nose football? How? We have a line that cant push anyone, please explain how you can play hard nose football without blocking
My in-person vote will be for one of the many times JF has chosen to go for it on 4th down during a hard fought, low scoring affair, where the field of position battle is of paramount importance, and he just flips the field giving the opponent great field position. I will then mail in 100 more votes just to muck up the system.

Like the OSU game this year. His decision to go for it on 4th down near midfield was at least in the top ten of his many boneheaded decisions.

@psujoe These kinds of calls tell me he’s leaving. Got a 7-3 lead and you go for it at midfield that call changed the momentum of the game because things went south after that.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing time after time and expecting a different result, how many times have we seen going for it on fourth down, throwing the ball 20 yards when you need 2, no running game, swing or screen passes that lose yardage more often than gain yardage, or even get back to the line of scrimmage, I am tired of seeing these same plays over and over.
