An article on the planned $700 M renovations to Beaver Stadium lists additional revenue sources that will result from the improvements. Included in new revenue sources are "New Naming Rights (Individual and Corporate)" as well as "Additional Philanthropy and Naming". Could this have any bearing on PSU's aversion to name the field after JoePa???? After all, it wouldn't bring in any new $$$$$!
More likely to become UPMC Stadium or Comcast Field. Look at what happened to Heinz Field as a recent example.
Law firm Hagens Berman and Winston & Strawn LLP announced jointly with the NCAA and the Power Five conferences — the Big Ten, SEC, Pac-12, Big 12 and ACC — a "landmark antitrust class-action settlement" that will provide "billion of dollars in backpay damages and tens of billions of dollars in future revenue-sharing to college athletes."
I guess this can fit in the follow the 💰 lol….my brothers, this ain’t going to end good. Where this money coming from?
Some of it will come from the TV money each school receives. How in the heck are they going to pay for the stadium renovations in light of this? Maybe the NFL can kick in some $$ to help out their minor league feeder system!
I also heard on the news that the power 5 conferences teams can pay players directly starting in fall 2025 assuming I heard them correctly. These guys might more than NFL players 😂 why Leave early and take a pay cut 😂
I think I read the same thing about schools being able to pay the players directly. That should have the transfer portal really hopping! Players will be really following the money, lol.
