All I am saying is he's 9-0 and has yet to sign an extension. His contract runs through 2030, and he's only making 7 mil a year. Also, I believe he is from NJ and his DL coach is PSU alum Sean Spencer.

Just talking out loud

It makes me wonder too. The latest rumor I’ve heard is it’s Drinkwitz and he’ll be signed by the end of the month but if I remember correctly PSU is very good at deflecting the attention away from the guy their focusing on.

You are certainly more plugged in than I am Homer but Drinkwitz doesn't move me...I still think the next HC is going to be one of the 5 guys I always mention...This guy Drinkwitz isn't a splash hire as far as I am concerned and the pun was intended...I honestly think the next HC is already all but a done deal and they are keeping this totally under wraps...Every week they float out a name or 2 and then the next week it is a couple different guys...I don't think the media or any of the so called "insiders" has an f'ing clue...They are just throwing crap at the wall to see what sticks...the 5 guys that I list are all gettable as far as finances are concerned...I firmly believe the next HC is going to be one of these 5 guys...Cignetti, Brohm, Brady, Hartline or Elko...It appears the big money guys are coming back to the program and with the infusion of their money into the program since Franklin is gone is going to be pivotal to this program taking the next step to becoming an elite program...I am actually encouraged by all of this and I do believe these guys will make the right moves with this hire...I firmly believe the new HC will be one of the 5 guys I listed and I also firmly believe whoever the chose out of these 5 guys already has a contract in principle already worked out...I can make a case for each one of these guys being hired but I am 100% certain the decision is already made and the money guys already have the plans in place to move the program forward...I am confident all of this is going to work out just fine for the program...

Well if it’s the Missouri coach we get Pribula back and maybe that’s part of the splash FD. This dude reminds me of James Franklin not that that’s bad I was just wanting a coach with a little attitude and will have the team playing with an attitude especially in the trenches. I’m still hoping for Manny or Fitz because I know the defense will be tough and will always keep us in games. Can Pribula get a medical redshirt and still have 2 years of eligibility left if we did go that route? I love Grunk but I don’t know if he’ll fit what Drinkwitz wants to do on offense. Grunk needs to be in a fun and gun offense like the old ball coach use to run throw the ball all over the field I believe he’s going to be good. Drinkwitz comes in Grunk is probably out of here because Pribula will come with him. Whoever we get from another team will bring players with him which will be a good thing especially when we’re losing guys by the day.

Gotta say the dude from Missouri is good with the transfer portal the dude goes out and gets players that helps win football games. Missouri was one of the best teams gettin players from the portal last year.

Like them or not, Pennlive aka Patriot News is still the best when it comes to to PSU coverage. Not only do they provide the best info but being local to PSU they have an actual feel for what’s going on around the program.

They’re not some blogger or run or the mill SEC schmuck like Southern relies on for info !

Heatd an interview of my buddy Davey Jones a while back and he still has some of the best insight when it comes to PSU. So sad that people hate on him because he calls it like he sees it and tells the truth.

To each his own, lol.  The only sports columnist on that rag that I had any use for was Audrey Snyder, and she was smart enough to leave for better pastures!

Oh the illustrious Ms. Ganim...Her 15 minutes of fame were quite fleeting weren't they...And who could ever forget David "tailpipe" Jones who was another Penn State hating hack along with his yes man buddy Bullet Bob Flounders...Man was that guy a mook...I am with you RIP the only one that had any cred with me was the great Ms. Snyder who I believe covers PSU on the Atlantic at present...Missouri can keep that coach as can Vanderbilt keep theirs...Not interested in any of these guys...We don't need a QB as I believe we got one right now and all that kid needs is some coaching and seasoning...I am going to stand by my prediction that the next PSU head coach is going to come from this list of 5 guys...Cignetti, Brohm, Brady, Hartline and Elko...One of those 5 is going to be the next HC and I believe the decision has already been made...I will give the program and the money guys credit for keeping a lid on this...There are no leaks and that is why all of these folks continue to throw crap at the wall to see what sticks because they have no idea...

@the-funeral-director  you know who I want but I believe Homer is right it’s probably the Missouri guy. I like Grunk to but Pribula fits his offense better but Grunk fits Harlines offense better. If they know who they are getting please get this shit done we’re losing our butts off right now guys jumping ship.

It ain't going to be Manny or this guy Drinkiwitz...The next HC is going to come from my list...These guys ain't gone yet...let the new guy come in and see who he brings in with him and who he convinces to stay...Also remember they are going to have a war chest to work with due to the money guys coming back into the program...Now ain't the time to panic...If we have a bare cupboard come the middle of February then start clutching your pearls...For now I am strutting around with my chest out because this program is about to take a big step forward to being elite...

I didn’t say I think it’s Drinkwitz, was only repeating what I’ve heard. I personally think it’s Elko or some other wildcard that we hear nothing about, maybe DeBoer?

DeBoer is a very interesting scenario...I have heard his name thrown around as well...I don't know how I feel about bringing him in...

@psujoe I meant what you’re hearing is probably right. Y’all can forget the A&M and Alabama coaches it ain’t happening unless both coaches go on a losing streak and if they do that why would we want them. I just heard that dude Zack also say the Missouri coach is the leading guy and like you he wants Elko. I’d rather have the Louisville coach than DeBoer or Elko

@southern-psu-fan Pribula I believe is a senior, so he isn't an option - wouldn't want him to come back anyways.  How bout them Ramblin Wrecks - they must have you riding on cloud nine this year!

Say what you want about Davey Jones but he was very well connected when it comes to PSU football and called things the way he saw it. He also was almost always right. I guess it’s true what they say,  the truth sometimes hurts.

I will say it again...With the big money guys at Penn State coming back to supporting the program Penn State will take a backseat to NOBODY if they want a coach or a player from a financial standpoint...If they want to lure Elko or DeBoar to State College I am sure they will be able to do so...There is a BILLION dollar investment being made in stadium and facility renovations...We are talking small change here in proportion to the quality of the product they need to bring forth to make those investments worth while...

I believe The Louisville coach is the most realistic one to get DeBoer and Elko have it made where they’re at and can get it done where they’re at. If the Louisville coach wants to win a NC he’ll leave and come to Penn St. cause he ain’t winning a NC at Louisville.

DeBoer wins everywhere he goes and would be a home run IMO. And never say never to Elko it’s way too quiet on that front and I believe whoever we get is going to be a shock to the fanbase just like the Knowles hire was. As FD says PSU has the finances and the big time donors are coming back now that JF is finally gone. We’re not investing the amount of money we are into the football program to take a backseat to anyone (except for maybe Texas)

@psujoe it does make since not to get in bidding wars with A&M and Alabama then not get either one if both teams make the playoffs. The Louisville coach is better anyway imo and he can get to recruiting quicker than the other 2 if he takes the job. Alabama and A&M have as much money as Penn St from what I hear.

@southern-psu-fan Kraft seems to me to be the kind of guy that’s going to go for the splash hire that makes people wonder how he pulled it off. He did the same thing with Knowles and no one saw that coming till the last minute. The more I see, hear and read the more I think this hire will be the same type of thing and if it’s someone like Drinkwitz or Brohm I would think the chatter will ramp up next week and the hire will happen around the end of the month. If it stays quiet I’d bet something bigger is in the works like Elko or DeBoer. Even if they do hire a coach whose team makes the playoff he will still have a 5 day portal window after his season ends and at least a couple players from his current team will  follow.
