Lol, logical reasoning you mean. It makes zero sense to compare a season where a coach is dealing with horrendous sanctions to normal seasons. It makes no sense at all.
So no, it isn't "selective reasoning". It's actually just realizing you should compare, you know... Similar circumstances. Even mathmaticians and staticians remove outliers, because it makes perfect sense. To know how good or bad a coach is you don't give him a high school team, have him play NFL teams, and then wonder why he couldn't win. Just like you don't give a coach a depleted roster, 25 less schollies then everyone else, then say he was no good because he lost a bunch of games.
