Yes, the student ticket sale was a joke. Wonder if the same happened at ND, OSU, TX.

Just inadvertently pull the plug when SMU runs out.

The forecast is calling for a high of 28 for game day.

Latest weather update is that the real feel temperature at kickoff will be 15 degrees and snow flurries.

Bad weather usually helps the underdog it would satisfy me if it was 80 degrees these next 3 games because we’re better than SMU, Boise State, ND, Indiana and even Georgia without their starting QB. Game is a toss up if their starting QB plays.

@southern-psu-fan Not sure why it would help the underdog. Only wussy southern teams need it to be 80 degrees to play football.

All I know is I am single handedly paying for this Playoff game! Good grief, $106.00 to park in my $20 spot. $400 for my tickets and it STILL isn't sold out......just LEFT OUT as in the student Section!

They sold this as a home game for Penn State, but left out A LOT of details! Nobody can call a right play in Beaver Stadium to save their souls! ALL I see is the rich getting richer!

Exactly ! The whole student section mis management thing will be egg on the CFP’s face and an embarrassment for PSU because those tickets aren’t selling. We like being downtown before and after games and pay a lot less than for parking than people that park in the grass around the stadium. The 2 things that’s ticking me off about the whole thing is the student section and from what I’ve heard the P.A and entertainment will also be handled by CFP.

I am in WB and from the sounds of it, the SMU band is next to me in WA. 500 tickets had to go to the SMU band and I think this is where they are going to be.....next to the PSU students which could be very interesting.  I think there is a break in sections between the students and the SMU band, and then you have the PSU band on the opposite side of the student section.  So the way I see it, it could be the battle of the bands on a side competition and then them the game itself.

Who knows, I say 85,000 people show up at best with more SMU folks coming than the 3500 seats they were allotted.  The CFP committee just assumed WE would pay the $200 price and not bat an eye and they are wrong. Most of the fans are hard working folks and the beer is cheaper at home to boot!

It was originally sold as a Penn State home game and now it is being sold as Penn State is hosting this first round game.  The funny thing is, Penn State would NOT be hosting THIS game if they weren't it! And this thing about the students not being denied a ticket if they applied on time is BS.  My niece and her friends applied on time and did not get a ticket.

The way I see it is, all they are concerned with is how much money they can make.  Penn State has a huge following, but a lot of the people I know are saving their money this weekend in hopes of going to the Fiesta Bowl the next game.  My parents live 15 minutes away from the stadium, so my costs are relatively low to go vs others who travel and stay somewhere.

It is was it is, but they messed this up. Still should be a fun time, great game, but I don't expect a traditional White Out crowd.....hope I am wrong!

GO STATE!!!!

@mtnittanylion I’m not expecting the traditional whiteout crowd either we’ll be there expecting a win and will be hanging in the area to watch the rest of the games afterwards.

This should be treated as a regular home game for Penn St and any other team that has the home game. I’ll go to another game one day but it will be on my terms when I go. That sitting out left a bad taste in my mouth when it’s 5 minutes before the game.
