I like the idea of a championship Saturday with play-ins.
Somebody didn’t like Alabama gettin left out lol
SEC was fine with it until they didn't get a 4th in.
"Wait what? Well we are all for equality but only if we get to say what equal means"

Actually the more prima donnas get left out the better chance to moving to a legit tournament, what that looks like I don't know, but generally things don't change unless the powers to be feel the pain.

The answer you seek is a 128-Team, Random Draw, Unseeded Tournament --- every Team gets a fair shot, no more complaints about teams scheduling weak opponents and there is a scheduling show every Sunday. Teams can play rivals and there are bowl games. It would be the football equivalent of the Hunger Games ---- each "district" is represented.
If there was a way to seed the teams it would be interesting to see a playoff like this. How many games would teams have to play. I guess you could rank all 128 teams after this years NC and that’s the way the season starts next year
I’m assuming it would look like a wrestling bracket just bigger and if you lose you keep playing teams that lost until it’s finished and the last team standing is the only team that’s undefeated? Last man standing a true National Champion
If we can do a 68 team basketball tournament in 2 weeks we should be able to do a 128 football playoff system we just don’t have a regular season the road to the NC starts game one. So you telling me every team has a chance 😂 I like it. Ain’t nobody opinion in it except rankings the teams for the first time because however the season ends goi g forward is how the next season starts. I really like it.

@southern-psu-fan That's a lot of football bro! Just a bit more body taxing than basketball.
@been-there-ii still play 14 games we play 14 now. There’s no regular season the 14 games are the playoffs and the last team undefeated wins the NC. The biggest problem I see is if a team like Alabama got upset the first game would they want to finish the season out they don’t even want to play in bowl games 11-2?
There are a couple of major reasons why that will never happen. First not all schools have their own stadiums. They share them and they are not available every week. Second how do you handle tickets to the games. You would not know who you are playing and whether or not you will be playing home or away each week. And the stadiums are not sitting there ready to go. There are a lot of people that have to be available for a home game, security, food workers, ticket takers, ... This is just not feasible.
- Cam Ward Is Already Calling For College Football Playoff To Expand To 24 Teams
I would be satisfied for 24 team playoff and end the season for all the other teams. We see this year with teams like Ole Miss, Alabama and Miami that these teams can beat anybody in the top 5 today especially Alabama and Ole Miss. the transfer portal has leveled the playing field and it will get more leveled in the next few years so they better start moving towards a 24 team playoff because we might have 20 2 loss team next year then what you going to do? I agree with Cam. 24 teams is the magic number imo
here’s how we get the 24 teams. Let’s go back to 1985 system with no conference championship games but we’ll still have conference champs it will just be in the way we use to get it and take the top 24 and let the chips fall where they fall baby. I’d be willing to even take the AP or CFP committee top 24 just to make it easy just pick one. Keeps the players hungry to win because they know their season still has a chance if they lose 3 or 4 games they’ll play hard every week because there is time where a 4 loss team is ranked in the top 24, just saying.
First step is to stop preseason rankings and start ranking rankings in 6th week based on W-L, SOS. That gives the last 6 weeks for jockeying and politicking, same goes for W-L, SOS. Count conference championship game as W-L, factor in to ranking. Final rankings include dropping teams who don't play in a conference championship if so indicated by SOS conference championship.
Otherwise drop rankings and go the route of the NFL in some fashion.
@psugrad81 You have expressed valid concerns but consider that the "Best Team" is more than the Team with the most talented players on the field.
A Team includes all of those who make it possible for the players to be on the field. The games involve a lot of administrative action and a 128-Team, Unseeded, Random Draw Tournament would rely heavily on those behind scenes. As an added bonus, the revenue from the entire tournament could be shared across all teams, thus reducing the problem of the haves and the have-nots. And some FCS games could be played on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to allow those schools greater exposure and some TV revenue.
A 128-Team, Unseeded, Random Draw Tournament would bring an increased level of fairness to the game and would therefore be a huge win for the sport.
Of course he is, because his team missed it.

Someone will always feel they got left out until every team gets in.
