Is it possible to sign a letter of understanding, or an intention to sign contract that states that both parties agree to wait until the season is over to announce and sign a contract?

And don't forget, for it to happen, that leaves another program douched unless they have a domino set up; too many fingers in the pot at that point to keep it quite.
I don't think there is anyone contracted at this point. Maybe as the playoff plays out, some HC might then say, I'm available after team loses or takes it all; situation really doesn't look good from any angle, imo.

That is called an agreement in principle and I am sure whoever it is that they have hired has signed one...I have to believe it has to be either Hartline, DeBoar or Cignetti...Why would they be interested in Lincoln Riley? Whoever it is that they have decided upon must still be coaching for their current team...The only people spinning and with their panties in a bunch are the talking heads who have no clue and the fans of the team who want to know who the next coach is and are getting impatient with the wait...I am sure we are getting a big time guy in here and it has already been decided...
@the-funeral-director the BYU coach is on Pennlive that’s what scares me. Hopefully it ain’t true. I’m sure the guy is a good coach but it’s not the same as playing Ohio State and Michigan 2 total different conferences.

If Alabama was afraid of losing DeBeor wouldn’t there be some news and wouldn’t LK waited since that’s the job he really wants and I’m hoping it’s Harline but if it were him I just don’t see him at Ohio State right now that’s what my eyes sees. @the-funeral-director if rumors are true it is Sitake which means PK couldn’t get his top 3 to 5 targets at least. Maybe he will do well, maybe not, but definitely a botched process if that is who he hires.

PennLive is an anti PSU football rag...Anything they can do to throw discourse at the program and fan base they will do...I don't believe a word out of that rag...I find it absolutely unimaginable that PSU's brain trust didn't have a guy already lined up BEFORE they shitcanned Franklin midseason...If that wasn't the case and they are indeed still looking for a head coach at this point then a lot of people need to be fired because this is pure stupidity...I refuse to believe these money guys pulled the pin on this and have no plan in place...If they don't have somebody lined up by now then this is the biggest debacle I have seen in a long time...I just refuse to believe that this is the case...
